Is it just me who thinks Munguia is a dangerous fight?

Now that it sounds like Canelo is fighting Munguia, I do see the arguments that people are making that he's ducked Benavidez but Munguia is no joke imo.

He has shown that he's dangerous, that he can improve and that he does have heart. Would I make Benavidez a favorite against Munguia? Yes but it's not a formality and I think it would be a close competitive fight that would go the distance whoever won.

I'm sure Canelo may know something I don't and I might get stick but I wouldn't criticize Canelo for this one and if it is a cherry pick, then I feel it could be a cherry pick gone wrong although I do favour Canelo for the win I don't think this is a foregone conclusion like the Charlo fight was.

I don't think so. Munguia does hit hard and can throw in volume but I dont think he fits the blue print of what has troubled Canelo

I'd like Munguia to win, but in all likelihood Canelo will piece him up. At least Munguia has the great equaliser, but given Canelo's excellent chin I'm not sure that means much.

Unfortunately no one is a dangerous fight for Canelo, every matchup is a duck of 7 other fighters and once he beats them they were bums in the 1st place. Happens every fight.

You can maybe watch Munguia vs Derevyanchenko to get a gauge of how much of a threat he is.

Given he struggled with a shot too pieces Sergiy, should have lost to Dennis Hogan, and ducked every big challenge he was ever offered I think we can conclude Canelo should smash this guy. I’ve never been impressed with Munguia and just like Zurdo, he’s made a career of fighting no namers and journeymen.

When Canelo knocks out Benavidez, same people will say "the real threat was actually Morrell. Canelo fought Benavidez to duck Morrell".

    Haters gonna hate.

I rate Derevyanchenko, he's never given anyone an easy nights work including Golovkin.

Always thought Benavidez gives Canelo a hard fight and I still do, it could go either way.

I always favoured Benavidez before the Plant fight but I must say after watching that, Canelo was far more impressive in his respective fight with Plant. I had him winning 7 of 10 completed rounds and he closed the show impressively in the 11th.

Benavidez won 7 rounds in the whole fight vs Plant and while he came on strong late, he was made to look silly at times early in the fight.

By the way Morrell is very dangerous too but you are right in what you say about that. Not sure Canelo would knock out or even beat Benavidez but if he did people would be demanding a Morrell fight straight away.

Munguia is the best fight they can make outside of Benevidez and Morrell. I don’t think Canelo will have too much problem with him but it should be a fun fight as long as it lasts, hopefully he proves me wrong and put Canelo on his azz but that’s a slim to none chance unfortunately.

I’m so happy Canelo is not fighting Charlo anymore!

who cares canelo is a ducker, benavidez called his bluff and canelo ran crying like a little btch, just like he did with ggg and handed over his belt like a good boy.

    Tailor-made for Canelo

Nice matchup for his highlight reel

I can see your point, I think Mungia could have a moment or two against this version of Canelo. Ginger didn't exactly look like a ball of fire against Charlo did he and I think Mungia could have beaten Charlo as well. ? Of course the odds of Mungia winning a decision are absolute zero and for him to win he has to be able to hurt Canelo at some point. Let's see what the odds are going to be , I might bet on this going the distance with decent odds.

The usual people will call it a cherry pick, but nothing new there. I’m not saying Munguia is particularly dangerous, but it won’t be as easy as most seem to think.
