You can't mention fighters with Glass chins without naming Amir Khan. He had it all to, skills, speed and pop, if he had a better chin he might have showed up on the doorstep of greatness.
Nah. Khan isn't close to an ATG. He did beat Maidana though, which is insane to me. If they hadn't fought, not one person on the planet would pick Khan.
For me glass jaw is someone like Price, Seth Mitchell, Khan. Many of that list for sure dont deserve glass jawed title.
But those guys had **** defense and huge flaws. I'm talking about great fighters that had a glass jaw. Maybe I'm being.a bit harsh but these guys were vastly superior to their opposition, thus hiding a sharky chin well.
Marquez had very solid chin. How can you say someone had a glass jaw if he wasn't stopped even once in like 60 fights, many of which were against top fighters? Wlad also didn't have a glass jaw. Yes, he was knocked down multiple times but he always ended the fights on his feet. He was hurtable for sure, but glass jaw? Nah. He took AJ's punches much better than Whyte, Helenius or even Povetkin. He took Haye's clean right hand in round 12, and he was still on his feet after that nasty left hook from Brewster that almost took his head off. Hearn's chin wasn't glass either. Below average for ATG fighter but not glass. RJJ and Patterson? Probably, but definitely not on Khan/Price/Szpilka/Grant level of glassiness
Marquez went through 5 weight divisions in his 64-fight, 21-years long career, and never was stopped. He has fought plenty world class fighters, hard hitters and guys that were bigger than him. He had a solid chin, 7 out of 10
Wlad's chin also wasn't glass, as well as Norton's. Ken Norton went 54 rounds vs Ali and Holmes combined and wasn't dropped at least once by any of them.
