Say Holyfield fights Lewis after Bowe 2 and Lewis fights Hoky instead of McCall. Now let’s assume Evander has no heart issues.

My guess? Holyfield wins a 12 round decision, this version of Lewis did not consistently use his jab. Remember this is pre Steward Lewis.

Neither were in their prime but I’d take Holyfield by narrow decision. Peak for peak would be a toss up.

At that point in their careers probably Holyfield in a close fight if Lewis had issues with Holyfield in 1999 he would have huge problems with a younger Evander

Logic dictates that we point to Holyfield. If the 37-year-old, broken Holyfield, who was about to be beaten by John Ruiz, was able to put up an equal fight with the prime Lewis, then Holyfield from his best years should definitely win against him. Holyfield is a better version of the Mercer that Lewis avoided.

To be fair Lewis also flogged Holyfield first time out.

    I'd favor Holyfield by decision.

Trouble is Holyfield didn't put up an even fight.

If it's the Holyfield from Moorer 1 then Lennox stops him.

Holyfield never had any Heart issues because Heart issues are not getting cured by a faith Healer. He had PED abuse issues.

In real live Holyfield is 0-2 vs Lewis, 1-2 , some say 0-3 vs Bowe, 1-1 with Glass cannon Moorer and 1-1-1 vs Huggybear.........I know , Tyson Tyson Tyson Tyson.....................the reality is that Holyfield lost more than he won when he stepped up.

Holyfield does not have the fire power to stop Lewis, he never had, out of the above including Tyson he had two TKO's.....out of 12 fights

Lewis wins a snooze fest similar to when they fought later.

What about both in their primes? Say, Holyfield 1991 vs Lewis 1999? Their actual bouts make it hard to figure, IMO. Lewis was at his peak while Holyfield was over the hill - the results? Lewis trounced him in the first outing but barely squeaked by in the rematch. What to make of that, I’m not sure. Perhaps Holyfield narrowly on points, which is what I tentatively went for here.

The only fight Holyfield had in 1994 was the poor performance against Moorer, the Holyfield in that fight loses a wide decision to Lewis although a stoppage wouldn't be out of the question either.
