At the end of the day, the promoters have to acquiesce to the fighters' demands. If two guys really want to get it on, the fight happens.

We eventually got Spence/Crawford because Spence was adamant that he wanted the fight, even with a megafight vs. Canelo on the horizon. Do you really think PBC wanted him mixing up with Crawford for a fraction of what they were going to get off the Canelo card? Of course not.

Canelo/Benavidez would happen if Canelo did what Spence did; it's just that ginger does not want the fight and has been rather public about it.

As for Pac/Floyd, we should -as fans- never want to see that sort of delay happen again.

Not here. Canelo isn't their guy; he was nothing more than a mercenary on a three fight deal. Benavidez is their long term investment, but he isn't box office. The only way to "maximize profits" here would have been to get Canelo -who was always going to jump ship eventually- to fight THEIR GUY before jumping ship and hope Benavidez would acquit himself well. That's why they tried to slide Benavidez in that third slot.

But don't let me tell you. What has Canelo always said about fighting Benavidez?

"I fight who I want"

David ducked a guy with 10 fights and who brings nothing to the able? Ok cool. They tried to fight him last year, but Morrells team ghosted them and morrells trainer said he was not ready. 1 thing I know for sure is the big fights never get made in the media. Whenever it's this many stories around a fight it won't get made until they stfu. Always happens that way, things get quiet and fights get made but as long as Benavidez Sr. Is negotiating with the internet we may never see it. And yes he talks way to much and basically has been caught lying in interviews before.
