Saturday will be interesting. If Joshua struggles, it'll prove that boxing is way inferior to MMA. We all know that Ngannou would kill Fury and AJ without the restricted rules of boxing, but it's mad if they both struggle against him in their own ruleset.
Inferior as a form of combat you mean? I love boxing but isnt that already obvious? head to head with everyone being allowed to use their full skillset MMA fighters are the best fighters in the world and it isnt close.
Inferior as in boxers not being vastly superior when it comes to the hands. Put an MMA guy into a kickboxing fight with an equal level muay thai fighter and he gets pole axed. Claressa kinda showed that elite (for women) boxing isn't effective in MMA when you have pillow fists. It only works in real fighting when you have that bruck them up power. Pitter patter is only effective under boxing rules.
All trolling aside, Aj will put a clinic on Ngannou Bruno would also put a clinic on him Fury massively underperformed. Francis is obviously not a bum, but he isn't a top boxer as we will find out in a few days
Theres a lot of variation with MMA guys stylistically though. Some guys have virtually no boxing ability, some guys have pretty good hands and could potentially hang at a decent level. Obviously ON AVERAGE boxers have the best hands, because its all they do, but they dont have a total monopoly on boxing skills. As for the kickboxing thing, MT guys are more technically sound than pure kickboxers usually and obviously they're mostly in the lower weight classes too (Demetrious Johnson did okay against Rodtang tbf) But as far as pure kickboxing goes I think the gap between those guys and good MMA strikers is pretty damn tiny these days tbh. Plenty of high level kickboxers have gotten slept in MMA and plenty of MMA guys have done well in kickboxing. Ciryl Gane would be a more legit title challenger for Rico Verhoeven than any of his actual title challengers.
Everyone seems to be buying in to the Ngannou hype, he had one semi decent performance against an uninterested and underprepared Fury and now he can beat a two time world champion still in his prime
Yea MMA guys are so good, you can find numerous videos of them losing real fights on YouTube to average Joes. Can't find one, of one pro boxer getting handled in a street fight. Go ahead and show me. There is a video of a former amateur boxer KOing a former pro UFC fighter in an hotel lobby. So the one occurrence of an actual boxer vs MMA fighter in the street, the boxer won. I watched Maiquel Falcao and Kaue Mena start a fight inside a gas station and both ended up unconscious outside the gas station. That's on video. That's two MMA guys together coupled with their MMA superpowers and they were both beaten senseless. Go watch the video and put Canelo and GGG in their spots and tell me how u think that plays out.
