No you're absolutely completely 100% wrong. MMA fighters are not mythical Marvel superheroes We have to stop the nonsense here. These guys get knocked out with glancing blows all the time in the cage. Grapplers and submission artists get knocked out with punches constantly so would a professional puncher have a decent chance of winning? Yes he would.

Within recent memory a WWE play wrestler won the UFC Heavyweight title easily. That wasn't ancient history that was like 10 years ago. That's all. Let's stop the nonsense.

You could also say that boxing rules saved Francis from getting knocked out in one round because Tyson Fury had to wear boxing gloves.

MMA rules actually allow somebody like Francis to prevent striking from happening, to tie up somebody's arms and drag them to the ground to do anything but strike. You can actually get accolades from scooting your ass around the cage and "win" in some version of that. Ridiculous.

So sick of the hype and propaganda - frat boy Joe Rogan tier nonsense surrounding the skills of these MMA fighters.

Very few of them are good at multiple disciplines (usually they are good at one and mediocre at another), we see them get knocked out with what looks to be sloppy and or glancing punches.

No don't you understand, the propaganda says that MMA fighters are these bulletproof invincible guys who are more akin to DC comics superheroes or Greek gods. We have certainly never seen one MMA guy get knocked completely cold by what looks like a glancing blow. We haven't seen a professional boxer like Butterbean, even venture into MMA and have several wins including by submission. Oh wait a minute, yes we have!

While WWE is fake, the wrestler in question was a real wrestler. Also that was the worst period of the worst division in the sport. Said wrestler remained relevant as long as he did because the biggest stars in MMA wanted to be paid much better money for an easy win.

A boxer needs serviceable takedown defense for their boxing to matter. If they have it they can do quite well in MMA. But that is something they absolutley need. And to a lesser extent they need submission defense to survive if that takedown defense fails.

Francis and to an extent the entire UFC HW division predominantly box in a way the rest of the sport does not. Francis grappled against Gane but by and large he and most of his opponents are going into the fight looking to knock someone out quickly with their boxing. As a result Francis's MMA training would be considerably closer to that of a boxer. HWs need a grappling game as insurance so its not an obvious weakness to be exploited but otherwise their MMA careers are spent preparing for very quick boxing matches.

    Thought the same.

You know, if Ngannou cranks up that left hook and takes out Joshua on Friday, and a super fit (which he is) Tyson Fury stops Usyk in the middle rounds in their unification, like he predicted he would ...

Fury-Ngannou II is going to be INSANE. Just a monster. Because these two can really sell a fight.

But we're going to have to sit tight and wait a WHOLE year for Fury-Ngannou II ... because Usyk and Joshua BOTH have rematch clauses.

    I just hate rematch clauses.

I can give you numerous examples of Pro MMA fighters losing real fights on YouTube.

Fury will box a storm in a Francis rematch

If Fury stops Usyk i'd expect Usyk to retire

That wwe play wrestler was actually a real wrestler and would absolutely destroy every single boxer in history in a fight

Grappling is WAY superior to striking, especially someone just throwing hands. If you can't stop a takedown? The fights over

Boxer has a punchers chance, but a grappler can shoot for a leg well outside the distance to punch. Also it isn't just grappling. Leg kicks hurt like hell and again you can throw them from outside the punching range

Francis would absolutely kill any boxer in a real fight and it would be extremely easy

no they are not marvel hero's but they are WAY better fighters than boxers and it's a fact.

Now if said boxer spent enough time learning mma? Then it may be different. But rest assured, Francis smashes Fury and the every other guy in that room soooo easy and wouldn't break a sweat

Destroy every single boxer ever? LOL then the NFL should have kept such a miracle man. He would destroy every single boxer ever until of course he was KO'd and his career ended. Just stop the nonsense. Leg kicks do hurt and Shannon Briggs, Butterbean, Claressa Shields, Raphael Butler, Ricardo Mayorga, Ray Mercer etc all somehow managed to get around that fact.

a rEaL fIgHt. A fist fight IS a real fight and Francis got outjabbed by a fat man in arguably a career worst performance.

I've been hearing this BS since Silva, Liddell, Lesnar, the Gracies etc. They all ultimately get KO'd and all of a sudden the myths lose their power.

So all I have to do is learn grappling and I'm unbeatable and bulletproof? Amazing! Lesnar never once had to show the heart and toughness of an Ali or Frazier in the Thrilla for example. Never once. Not saying he isn't strong but he actually can "win" by preventing all striking! a rEaL fIGhT!

This is no different then the Judo vs Karate arguments people had in the 70s.

My friend, I essentially agree. We have already seen a boxing champion go to UFC and win via KO. Holly Holm. It's been done.

But I don't buy some of these excuses. Lesnar wasn't ancient history it was within recent memory. He EASILY won their title. And the guy wasn't an ULTIMATE FIGHTER. He was a giant wrestler who could win as long as you didn't hit him and as long as he could pound a downed opponents head like a bongo drum. Lesnar couldn't box worth a damn. Big wrestler, eventually got KO'd like the rest of these "miracle men"

Lesnar couldn't take a punch, would flinch and turtle up.
If he's at a bar and tells Mike Tyson to move out of his way or he'll do it for him? Tyson would without question, completely beat the shhtt out of Lesnar before he would even have a chance to defend himself.
