Parker is just that much better as he proved tonight. Wilder and Zhang back to back...the two hardest punchers in the HW division and Joe takes them out with focus and heart. He deserves a huge payday.
Zhang and Wilder were never that good to begin with. They finally met someone who wasn’t glass chinned, not afraid of their power and that also knew how to fight back. This is why I think a lot of the top guys from the 90s would flatten today’s heavyweights despite being a lot smaller, excluding the ones who can actually fight like Joshua and Parker.
He wasn't shot. Parker just fought exactly the way he needed to, box smart, keep moving, draw the fight into the later rounds and tire Zhang out. Superb tactics, and really cements Parker as one of the top guys in the division right now. Zhang's power is ridiculous though. He was dropping Parker any time he landed clean. Which unfortunately was only about two times.
Anyone who's age starts with a 4 has a pretty good argument for being shot. That said, I think Zhang is what he is. What he always was. A big puncher with a small gas tank. He didn't have trouble pulling the trigger. When he did throw he was finding his target. He just didn't throw enough, and his feet were to slow to line up the perfect shot on the front foot. All credit to Parker. Man, I wanted Parker to get leveled. He's so boring. But he did what he had to do. He survived and he won the fight.
