"Well yeah, hes the biggest puncher in MMA history. But being the best boxer in HW MMA does not = being elite in actual boxing, as we just found out in brutal sobering fashion."

We've found a common ground then.

For all the MMA groupies.. just remember there would be no MMA without boxing.. respect your elders. Boxing is the blueprint everything else is built upon.

Stop looking for excuses, just stop it. He came at his best and lost : “I didn’t underestimate him,” Fury said during an interview with IFL TV on Monday. “I trained for 12 weeks, [gave] it the best preparation I could’ve done. And that’s it.”

Just copy paste this sentence on Google and you'll find the link. I don't put the link to avoid moderation approval.

To beat Ngannou, you need to hit really hard. Fury had nothing to hurt Ngannou.

Top 3 at least. You have Fedor, Stipe, then Ngannou in that order.

You don't know anything about mma if you think Fedor is a top fighter.

I wouldn't put Ngannou over Capt. America.

Yeah, it's just the nature of the two different sports. In MMA you can never become as specialized and trained in one facet of offense like punching in boxing, as you also have to train kicks and grappling.

We should just acknowledge an MMA fighter won't beat a good boxer in the ring and it would be vice versa in the cage.

I'll add I was just thinking over this and Francis never took as flush a kick to the head in any of his MMA fights as the punch he took from AJ. HW MMA fighters aren't usually that lauded for their kicks.

Boxing needed this desperately. Imagine a 2 fight novice at the least 1-1 against 2 unified champions.

Yet Vitali lost by an extremely brutal KO in kickboxing, but never in boxing, so what's your point ?

Actually, Joshua hits harder than almost any HW (in this era) and he especially landed very clean punches on Ngannou.

On the other hand, Fury could never hurt Ngannou, even by cheating with an elbow.

Anthony Joshua was a good champion, but not spectacular. In general, I think he's underrated, because we haven't had a spectacular champion since Lennox Lewis.
