Szpilka was 20-1 before facing WIlder, and was TKO just once before that. It depends on your opposition, and Ortiz opposition was dreadful. Should i even mention Tommy Morrison, who was 28-0, and clearly packed a glass? And his opposition was prolly better than Ortiz. As far as the second part, you were the one that start comparing WIlder and AJ power by saying Wilder KO this guy faster, and etc. So i just did the same as you and pointed that you are wrong, as this ain't how it works in Boxing, as per the example shown. There is a different kind of power, so you can't compare. The problem with Wilder is his level of opposition, and also that he always managed to duck and not face a good chin fighters. This is 100% correct, and everyone who try to dismiss it, it's living in a dream. He was also the most protected Champion, probably in the history of this sport. Now as far as Wilder power, it could be real, or it could very well be another fake thing in him. He obviously hit very hard, having in mind that he is not a 240+ behemoth, he obviously was fast as well and explosive as well, but it's his own fault, and his protection system that we would probably never really know how powerful he really was. With AJ we knows it, as he is proven that he can KO top notch chins and he can shatter them for good. With Deontey we can only guess. Let's not forget that Wilder ducked that Zhang fight, and Zhang is another guy with a good chin. And he was essentially Wilder ticket back to the big stage.
Im not saying AJ is a top 10 puncher but I could go down the list and pick out at least 2 cases exactly like Franklin for every top 10 puncher
The HW division is littered with an abundance of animalistic hitters. Joshua isn't top 10. Very good puncher, but definitely not top 10.........or 20
Wilder's opponents were so low level it's hard to make comparisons to the best fighters in the modern era, nevermind going back to the old greats. Would anyone Wilder beat crack the top 100 in the 90s or 70s?
Eh. It's splitting hairs to be honest. He's right up there. I would say a ton of fighters are all tied within the top ten. There's not much to differentiate them in terms of raw power. There's more than ten fighters in the top ten.
I think it's impossible to say. Guys like Lewis and Tyson are often ranked among the 10 best punchers ever at HW, yet quite possibly they weren't even among top 3 punchers of their era (Tua, Morrison and Ruddock quite possibly hit harder, just weren't as good of the boxers Lewis and Tyson were). Then you have the guys like Jimmy Thunder who hit like mule. Nobody would rank him in these lists since he was a fringe contender at best. But man, he could punch! Knocked out Grimsley cold with the first punch after Grimsley went 12 rounds with old Foreman, knocked down Marion Wilson VERY hard, while guys like Briggs, Rahman, Golota couldn't hurt him even slightly. So, there could be lower-level guys who hit harder than top heavyweight punchers. And it's impossible to say objectively where AJ ranks in all-time power list. But two things can be said for sure: 1) he has elite power 2) he delivers it very well
It's like saying we should judge the best fighters on their worst fights ffs. Franklin was a bad performance, JOshua is gaining confidence. Might as well judge Lewis on the Rahman fight, Wlad on his 3 early career loses etc.
Wilder was completely shot and old as hell against Parker. Not a good comparison. Yes Wilder is more explosive than Joshua. He has more athletic, basketball player build and more fast twitch fibers. This content is protected This content is protected AJ has never looked this nimble and explosive, including the clip you posted. Wilder's power literally can go from 0-100. AJ is a more heavy handed puncher with a more strength based delivery system. I'm not sure you even understand what an "explosive puncher" is. Got anything to say about actual pro boxers who sparred with both men saying Wilder hits harder than Joshua...? This content is protected This content is protected Don't know why you're going on and on about Joshua's build and how he's a sprinter. You literally agreed with me his stamina isn't as good as monsters like Vitali, Usyk, Frazier, etc. He has good stamina for a big bodybuilder type, but he doesn't have "great" stamina no matter how you slice it.
Just typing one word isn't a valid argument. If you disagree but aren't going to bother elaborating, then you will be dismissed.
