If AJ gets another shot at Usyk...what could he do differently?

There is no reason for Joshua to ever fight Usyk again, this is silly.

Nothing that he will ever do the rest of his career would warrant a third fight, that book is closed....................

 

He could go for the KO and get KO'd himself.

He had the massive support team, the judge advantage, youth, size, power, height, reach ...

Yet he lost twice to a cruiserweight.

He is so wildly inferior to Usyk in every genuine way, including as a man, it's amazing.

 

Usyk at 38/39 would have the age excuse, but Fury is past his prime purely because he abused his body.

Joshua is still in his physical prime because he remained active and stayed in shape, where as Fury ate pies and drank beer.

 

What he lacked in the first two fights with Usyk, which is aggressiveness, I would still favor Usyk in the third fight, but Joshua's chances would certainly be good.

 

The navel was apparent when the fight started which is why the ref did not deem blows on the belt as legal. The fact that Dubois had higher trunks than Usyk and the ref still didn't feel the need to designate blows on the belt as legal should tell you alll you need to know.

For that shot to be legal the ref had to make a comment before the fight started. He didnt.

To be fair people were saying the same thing about Ruiz 2.
AJ doesn't need to do much more. He gained a lot of experience and knowledge during the 24 rounds with Usyk. He also had 4 more fights after Usyk, which is also big experience. AJ doesn't have 350 amateur fights like Usyk, but he improve constantly. With a better gameplan, and Usyk age anything is possible. AJ also has the tools, so you never know how the fight could plays out.
Rematches could end up very, very differently, even if there is difference in the skill levels.

Still that page is closed for AJ, and Usyk won't fight him again, in that i'm certain.

AJ - Fury is the fight to made. When Fury lost to Usyk, AJ should chase Fury, and we could enjoy the ducking of Fury, and all the mental gymnastics he and uncle Frank would pull to duck the fight and blame it on AJ.

 

I think AJ is improving and maybe he could actually win if they meet next year, but that would probably mostly be down to Usyk ageing in that case.

Can't really see AJ beating Usyk at his best as it is now. Joshua would have to show both a level of aggression and ring iq which he hasn't quite reached yet.

 

Definitely go to the body. Be the boss as Teddy Atlas says, be confident in the fact that he is one of the hardest punchers in the world. What else can be done? Two fights and the same result. It's all easy to say and hard to do.

After the Ngannou fight, Eddie Hearn said "Tyson Fury please, please beat Usyk.'

They do not want to have to fight Usyk again and are hoping Fury does the dirty work for them.

Serge, I’m a Parker fan but aj beat him fair and square the first time. Maybe it would be different now as Parker has definitely improved.

 

Just rewatched Joshua-Whyte. Had forgotten how extremely aggressive Joshua was. That's the kind of balls to the walls attitude he needs to regain if he's to face Usyk again.

His current more calculated style is better suited for the bigger punchers, but against someone as fast and skillfull as Usyk he needs that aggression. He was probably fully aware of that going into the second fight, but couldn't turn it on for some reason. He probably won't for a third meet either, but there's where his chance lie.
