This is my take 100%. I liked the OPs top 5 set... but would jump Fury to #2 and push AJ & Parker down.

Too many knee jerk reactions against Fury here. The worst from AJs many minions. Sure, weight recent fights greater, but you don't completely zero out - or conveniently forget - results within the past 5 years. AJ lost to a bulked up CW TWICE, and before that to a shorter Tub of lard HW with short, but fast arms. His recent 4W run is not equal to Parker's latest run.

Agreed. I think some of the folks knocking Fury completely out of the top 5 (??!) are taking it upon themselves to act as governing bodies, effectively stripping Fury of his WBC belt due to inactivity and/or his embarrassing performance in what was essentially an exhibition bout.

Don't get me wrong... I too am PO'd at Fury for wasting all our time last fall by delaying an Usyk bout for this $$-grab charade.

But like I said, give it 'til May 18. If Usyk dominates him, go ahead and knock Fury out of the top 5 then.

Since no list is required (from first place to fifth place) I can say that I have 4 for sure: Fury, Usyk, AJ and Parker.
When you have 4 safe names, it is not difficult to make a "Top 5". And let Hrgović be the fifth :)

I think they're probably being a little bit premature about it, too.

Equally, I think anyone ranking Fury 1st or 2nd is failing to take into account his inactivity and how long it's been since he had an actually impressive performance - which IMHO is Wilder-2, and before that is Wlad...

There's a lot of smoke and mirrors with Fury - he might be great, he might be capable of it... It means little if he's not doing it.

I don't have an issue with anyone rating him 3rd or even 4th - the massive lack of proven-ness in the rest below that means he can't genuinely be set out of the top 5 just yet no mstter how much he takes the **** out of the sport.

    Spot on.

I'd say ATM there is a fair gap between the top 5-6 and the rest. I think Zhang would be at 6th, but 7th is pretty vague.

Whyte and Ruiz could have been in the top 7 discussion if they weren't so inactive.

No I like him, I’m just not delusional about his current abilities and talent ceiling.

My god this place is a disaster.
People are actually putting AJ above Fury for ducking Wilder and Fury to fight Franklin/old Helenius/Wallin/MMA fighter. You can't make this up.
AJ isn't even above Parker at this point. And even Parker's wins are against two old men.
    Wake up.
AJ's last win against a true top boxer was Pulev, and Pulev was 40 and just had Covid. LOL.
