Tallest fighter to compete in each weight class

    What the title said.

    But let’s make sure there’s a verified account of the fighter making weight in that class consistently over at least a 1-2 year period to keep it fair (like someone who was a flyweight for his debut but a bantam a year later and stayed there for a few years should be included at bantam … and if a guy never actually made 118 but was 119 for a couple of years, put him at super bantam).

    I have no idea who might show up here, but Nikolai Valuev at 7 feet tall is the tallest fighter of whom I’m aware, so I guess that’s the benchmark for heavyweight.

    So from strawweight to the biggest of the big boys, who stood tallest?

    Sebastian Sundaro has my vote for Jr. Middle - he’s half an inch shy of 6’6”

    You must mean Sebastian Fundora.

    I’ve seen him listed at 6-7, but that seems a stretch (I couldn’t resist).

    Guillermo Jones (6ft 4ins) and Maurice Blocker (6ft 2ins) both fought at Welter and both were taller than the 6ft 1ins Hearns.

    I'm not sure if these fighters are all the tallest in these particular weightclasses but these are some strong candidates......

    Heavyweight = Julius Long 7'1 Mike White 6'10

    Light Heavyweight = Carlos Negron 6'6

    Super Middleweight = Thomas Oosthuzien 6'4 Callum Smith 6'3

    Jr Middleweight = Kingsley Ikeke 6'4 Ronald Hearns 6'3

    Welterweight = Guillermo Jones 6'4 Paul Williams 6'3 Mark Breland 6'2

    Super Featherweight = Ali Funeka 6'1

    Super Bantamweight = Celestino Caballero 5'11

    Bantamweight = Panama Al Brown 5'11

    Fundora must be the most freakishly tall fighter relative to his weight in boxing history.

    Panama Al Brown, 5ft 11ins at BW during an era of same day weigh ins, is in contention for the 2nd.

    I think he’s still a fairly young guy and with all that height could possibly grow into some of the higher weight classes

    Should move down to bantam. Win every fight by DQ from low blows because opponents wouldn’t be able to reach to hit above the belt.
