Who is the worst amateur career but pro ATG?

Rocky Marciano was 8-4 as an amateur.
Stephen Fulton 75-15

Neither are super terrible but definitely not the best. There aren't many examples of this.

 

Roberto Duran was 18-3 as an amateur and turned pro at 16.

 

Brandon Figueroa might end up as a HoFer. He went 33-17 as an amateur

 

75-15 as an amateur is an extremely successful amateur career, that is by no means bad

I'm pretty sure Sam Peter was only like 15-20 and 5 and it was a shock he made it to the Olympics.

 

We cannot call him an ATG but Johnny Nelson went from an amateur record of 3-10 to then become a world champion with 13 straight defences which is quite a turnaround.

 

Rocky is probably the right answer. Out of all the World Heavyweight Champions who are considered all-time greats, those that had amateur careers were all likely more successful than Rocky was as an amateur.

 

Holmes didn’t have a stellar amateur career. Think he was 19-3, not bad, but not what you would expect from someone as good as him.

Though not an atg, Randall Cobb was an 0-2 amateur and just hopped right into the pros.
