There's been a lot of talk about AJ's punching power after the Ngannou KO and I just saw the AJ vs prime Lennox thread, so that made me think of this. Who hits harder?

Lennox Lewis imo, also more of an accurate puncher. AJ is better at combination punches and has a harder average punch. But at full power I think Lennox punched harder

About even. 9 of 10. Wlad hit with his best punch a bit harder than both AJ or Lennox. 9.5

Not sure if I am honest, both similar size and weight, both obviously have plenty of power and knocked out a lot of opponents. Joshua's has the benefit of superior modern training methods meaning he could potentially generate more power but I think Lewis' technique and delivery were superior. Joshua has the higher KO percentage but then Lewis fought in a deeper era and faced some truly ironed chinned fighters in Tua, Holyfield, Mercer, McCall and Vitali.

Both were more than capable of KOing the other. But in the end I think Lewis was the better overall puncher, because he was more skilled and varied and so could deliver his power better.

Lewis is the better overall puncher but pure power wise it’s probably about equal

I think they punch about equally hard with a right hand and right uppercut but AJ's left hook is definitely harder than Lewis' one. Also, AJ is good body puncher while Lewis' body punching was almost non-existant.

I consider Lewis better defensive fighter, considering he was very effective in holding/clinching. Wlad-level effective. He also had good reflexes/punch anticipation for a guy of his size. Unlike Lewis, AJ is awful in holding and I think his reflexes are slightly worse than Lewis' ones.

But offensively I think AJ is slightly superior due to him being a good body puncher and good combination puncher while Lewis body work was about as good as Wlad's uppercut.

Lewis was the harder puncher and also the better finisher, just watch the Takam fight as an example .

Going off of the guys they stopped, I'd say Lewis edges it.
Stopped Ruddock in 2 while Tyson needed a controversial stoppage to beat him the first time and then went the distance with him in the rematch. Dropped the durable Tony Tucker twice. Stopped Golota in a round, unlike Bowe.

Joshua stopped the never before stopped Kevin Johnson in two rounds. First man to stop Povetkin. Dropped the durable Ruiz. And iced Ngannou (up for debate as to how impressive a display of power that is)

Joshua just doesn't have any displays of power on the level of Lewis crushing Golota in 1 and Ruddock in 2

Not much In it I'd say, but Lewis would edge it and he's a better puncher too

Lewis is better than Aj and Fury, usyk too at HW

Probably even-stevens on raw power. I think Lewis was the more fluid and looser puncher, probably better overall spontaneity in actual throwing & delivery too. Lewis could also punch better from more unorthodox angles and less balanced situations.

In comparison, AJ's a bit straight lines and right angles. More text book.

Joshua fought in a better era. Has higher ko percentage. Has lower body fat percentage. I go with Joshua.

Conversely, with you bringing up Mike there, it took Lewis 8 rounds to put away a badly washed Mike Tyson when they eventually fought.
