That's true Germans are also quite quiet and reserved as well. Still thought them fights last night although some of them are a lower level turned out to be much better. Maybe these are the kind of fights they need to put on in Saudi to get the place bouncing hahaha.
Back in the day I went from watching US pro wrestling (WWF/NWA) to getting tapes of Japanese shows. Thought exactly the same at the time "why is the crowd so quiet" etc. Except, they weren't - they treated it a bit more like real sport and got properly involved in the high spots. And the smaller the venue, the better the atmosphere got. Once you got into it, the atmosphere was different but suited the shows. Boxing is going the same way - Saudi would be better packing out a smaller hall with proper boxing fans, it's fine to have the royalty and celebs at ringside but from 3 or 4 rows back, let the fans in. And not just the coked-up ones that sing Sweet Caroline then go for last orders.
Me too. Big brawl in the stands during the first round and full of Leeds fans singing footy songs in the concourse. Can’t abide being around pissed up dickheads these days but back then I went to loads of shows and it was one of the worst crowds I’ve seen.
Surely even Benn must regret how this has gone. Two years now without a fight in the UK. Fighting two road sweepers on a foreign licence for chump change. When if he had held his hands up and taken his punishment he would have been free to fight after a 12 month ban. He has also wasted two years of his athletic prime. There is also now no end in sight to this, due to the way they handled this. This should be written up in a book under how not to handle failing a PED test.
