Sonny wins by murder, because Roy has no chin, ie. impact resistance.
And most importantly, Liston is not John Ruiz.

Do you really want to see a homicide in the ring?

Roy gives an impressive showing until he actually gets hit

Don't you think that it could last the distance? In about a year later on Sept 7 1960, Eddie Machen went 12 rounds with Sonny Liston, even though Machen lost on points.

That is a fair point, however in that case Roy would have to uncharacteristically give up on any meaningful offense and focus solely on survival. I think he could, if he completely committed to it.

That sounds about right, Liston had an 82 inch reach and size 14 inch fist, he was not quick but he could box.

Liston is the heavy favorite but if RJJ fought a survival fight, he could last the distance. Most likely.

7-to-5 that Jones makes wee-wee during the ring instructions.

I like you as a poster. But why are you obsessed with pitting dudes from smaller weight classes against absolute killers ? I mean what’s the next thread topic ? “ send in your best flyweight to beat Wladimir Klitschko ? “

I don't see that actually. He could possibly survive for a while but Liston too damn... Liston, for Roy.
    He'd eventually nail him imo

I like you too buddy but I am making a point, other posters are always putting Roy Jones Jr against competition that he can easily beat buddy, tit for tat I say. It is not an obsession, but let's make it fair.

I don't think the guy you're replying to, has ever picked Liston to KO anyone.
