Everyone grasps it. He's making a reward/risk decision, the same as every prizefighter.

But as boxing fans we care much more about the sport side as opposed to the financial side of it.

You should want him to fight Benavidez. Benavidez is his best challenger. It would be a great fight. We don't care if he can get more money fighting Munguia or not, we just want the best fighting each other.

He does get to decide. They're his titles. He won them, and he pays the sanctioning fees for them.
    They're his.

So what's the point in the rankings?

With all due respect, those allegations are according to Benavidez.

    Let's see what happens

Which rankings? WBC? IBF WBA? WBO? IBO? WWE?

There can literally be 15+ "champions" in any weight class at a given time w "regular" champs, "interim champs", "champs in recess", and ofc "franchise champs".

Please dont make any issue - EVER - about RANKINGS. Theyre a JOKE.

What he's doing right now. Munguia is #1 in the WBO rankings. He's fighting him.

Given we're talking specifically about Alvarez this is a rather stupid question.

There's one in this case. Which is the point.

    They are. See: Alvarez.

Are there any other undisputed champions out there who you believe should consistently fight whoever they like?

I just want to see if you're consistent.

The weight isn't the problem as Canelo had no issues facing the biggest weight bully of all time in Chavez Jr. , however, he wasn't very skilled so Canelo had no issue with facing him. Contrarily Benavidez is an entire different animal and Canelo is more than aware of this and wisely wants absolutely nothing to do with him.

He doesn't have a ranking number because he is interim champ, which makes him co-champ rankings wise.

Bivol took both the Soul and Spirit off Canelo. He has now suddenly realised that he isn't "The Immortal" anymore within the ring.

Canelo lost more than he realised at the time in that Bivol fight.

I had Bivol to win pre-fight btw. Canelo knows he is now on the inevitable slide.
