We all thought the $55 million offer from Team Benavidez was ridiculous and apparently it was a bogus claim on their part to make Canelo look greedy. However now that Canelo himself has said he won’t take anything under $150 million, preferably $200 million, to fight Benavidez…..idk. Perhaps Team Benavidez really did make a $55 million offer that Canelo turned down?

It’s ridiculous to think anyone would pay him that much money to fight Benavidez, but that’s what he’s asking for. He makes even Floyd’s greed look humble. I’m not sure who even has this much money to give him other than the Saudis, but maybe that’s part of the aim? On the other hand this speaks volumes about how much of a threat he views Benavidez to be when he’s willing to fight guys like Charlo for a mere $35 million.

Ginger midget nobody cares. American market consists of an instagram degenerate and Jake Paul. Boxing is in a BUST cycle. The boom is long OVER. Nobody paying over $50m for these losers.

Fury & Usyk will get their ~$100milly then retire and boxing will implode with it.

Canelo should retire and pretend he didn't get slapped up by 40 year old Floyd and get manhandled by Bivol fighting in 2nd gear.

When you ask for that much, that's basically 'ducking' and using a ridiculously high purse demand as a way out.

Canelo is scared of taking a beating, too rich at this point in his career.

Just fight a couple of tomato cans and retire.

Senator, you can have my offer now if you like... My final offer is this.. Nothing. Not even the fee for the gaming license which I would appreciate you putting up personally.

If the Saudis go for it then fair play to him, but it just sounds like a duck ATM.

Not being the best one stops it being a good fight.

Yes he's a top 5 fighter, but the number 1 contender is available and ready to fight.

Unless the Saudi wants to throw away money, they will never recoup that purse price. That demand would need 3 million PPV sales. That ain't happening.

Canelo needs to shut up and rematch Bivol or fight Beterbiev.

    Right now

    Usyk
    Opetai
    Beterbiev

They're all fighting the best fighter they possibly can.

Good fights aren't good fights when better fights are available.

He destroyed Ryder, he's earnt his top 5 ranking there's no doubt about that.

If Benavidez, Morrell and Mbilli were all unavailable, or where actually scheduled, then Munguia would be the best of the non mandatory opponents.

The problem here is all 3 of Canelo's mandatories, so the fights which are easiest to make, also happen to be the best 3 in the division, but he still won't fight them.

He'd fight Beterbiev for about 250 million and a Saudi princess's hand in marriage.

    Usyk v Fury
    Opetai v Breidis
    Beterbiev v Bivol

Those 3 are all fights between the top two in the division

Right now we should have Canelo v Benavidez which would also be between the top two in the division.
