Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou •

Ngannou is an amateur. He has no skills. He needs to go back to the MMA world.

 

And he'd get smoked there again too.

 

Got to look at it from his perspective. He hasn't really lost a fight in 6 years and almost beat Fury his first fight. Getting destroyed like that is hard to wrap ones head around in that position.

Not that Francis would have won or even went the distance but it would have lasted a lot longer if he hadn't switched to southpaw and had been similarily conservative to the Fury fight. In terms of biting on everything his opponents throwing nerves seems like a somewhat logical excuse. We know from the Fury fight hes better than that. He abandoned the approach that got him there.

 

He got his ego shattered brutally after Stipe went against the script and beat ass for 5 rounds back then as well. The UFC were hyping him to absurd heights and totally disrespecting/writing Stipe off. It was immensely satisfying to see. There's even a few hilarious caps of the disappointed look on Whites face as Stipe was beating up Ngannou.

 

Aspinall is going to take over the heavyweight MMA scene and has far more boxing ability than Francis.

 

Yeah Aspinall is a rare breed. Big, athletic and well rounded. Most of the current HWs are just fat brawlers.

 

Being aggressive not going to work against great boxers and a great counter punchers like AJ. He ain't fighting a guy that is featherfisted.
More aggressive often mean more open. Ngannou was actually aggressive, he try to take the center of the ring, but AJ footwork didn't allow him to come close to actually land anything.
Also AJ has million time faster hands than him.
People underestimate AJ abilities..
Ngannou was doing great in terms of Boxing against Fury, but AJ ain't Fury. And the moment you make a mistake, you are going to pay.
