I think your confusing chin with recovery ability. Ruiz’s chin is average, but his recovery ability is damn good.

Him getting dropped and hurt twice by a shot to bits version.

 

Prime Arreola couldn't knock out anyone good. He couldn't even knock out Adamek.

 

Then why did Ruiz struggle with a middle aged beyond over the hill version if Arreola was never any good. Couldnt even KO him wtf

 

Change of trainer and rapid loss of weight had a big say in that performance I reckon. He won the fight comfortably barring the early round wobble though

Arreola was like a decade beyond his prime. Ruiz is just overrated honestly. Ortiz had no legs left and still pushed Ruiz very close. Whole era is overrated. Povetkin definitely showed me that

 

It’s because Arreola has always had a killer punch and Ruiz is a stationary guy with garbage head movement. I’m not sure how much differently a prime Arreola would’ve fared, the guy is pretty inconsistent

 

Not enough data. He stood up to Joshua, but we haven't seen him stand up to a lot of power punchers with different punches and different kinds of power.

That being said, it was a real good one until the weight gains and losses denuded it.
