Two UK legends: The Italian Dragon and Oluwafemi. Both fighters best win is against a legend in the 40-50 year age category. There are other remarkable parallels between the resumes. If Joshua were to retire tomorrow, who would lay claim to the better resume?

No way could Usyk out-box Calzaghe the way he out-boxed AJ twice, no comparison.

Joshua started off with Wlad & ended on Usyk & an African wrestler. Calzaghe started off with Eubank & ended on Kessler & Hopkins. I'd say Joe easily. He also never lost to a walrus or had a mental breakdown in the ring.. I've also never really seen Joshua put on a masterclass, I can name a few fights where (imo) Joe did.. Lacy, Eubank, Kessler, Brewer.. if Calzaghe was the size of Usyk he'd probably put the same clinic on Joshua as he did. I believe Joe & Usyk to be two of the post war greats of European boxing. I like Joshua but hes not special, those two are.

Joe was 37 when he fought Hopkins, so it's not really comparable to the WK win for Joshua.. to add to that I also consider Hopkins a greater champion than Vladimir anyway... & for me personally I consider Kessler his best win. That was a legit pick em at the time. Kessler was an excellent champion back then & an historical fight for the division. Calzaghes American run was a retirement leg & a cash out, hed walked away already..

Why was Kessler an excellent champion?

Super Joe was an amazing fighter.

Smashed up that hype job Lacy in the MEN who was supposedly going to spark him out in seven rounds.

Great memories of that brilliant fight between him and Kessler in the millennium.

    What a night that was.

Also beat Hopkins on his own turf and admittedly shot Jones.

But didn't get whooped and run away never to return.

Think usyk saw the hopkins flight and banked it as a trick he used in the future hahaha.

Calzaghe is widely regarded as the best super middleweight ever. AJ is not even regarded as the best heavyweight of this era.

Voted Joshua but think I was wrong. Calzaghe did have some great wins late in his career

Calzaghe. I have my misgivings over him, but there's no doubt that by the time he was done at 168 he'd absolutely and thoroughly proved himself to be his division's master, something Joshua hasn't quite accomplished at Heavy. Beating a still-decent (albeit definitely not prime) Hopkins, who still had 2-3 good wins and performances left in him at 175, is just the extra little cherry on top of the cake.

Calzaghe was one of the best fighters of the 90`s while AJ was out-classed by a smaller man twice, there`s no comparison, Calzaghe was a full level above what AJ is.

He was simply a far better boxer and was never out-classed the way AJ was v Usyk, nor was he knocked out by a fighter like Ruiz.

AJ still has a long way to go, but it isn't close foe me right now. Definitely Joe.
