I hope Plant "holding" his own was a pun.

Plant certainly didn't hold his own in terms of fisticuffs; he was beaten into a bloody heap despite running for the first five rounds and then -for the last half- held on like a three year old at his first day of school.

    He hasn't fought since.

What fight did you guys watch?

Benavidez will start to struggle when fighting opponents his size. One of the things that made him such a threat was his size and ability to bulldoze guys. In my opinion both Bivol and Beterbiev lump him up.

During the second half of the fight. Plant has bad stamina and Benavidez couldn't knock him out despite landing consistently, even with the holding

Bivol would school Benavidez. Benavidez could beat Gvozdyk and Bivol would still outclass him. Benavidez doesn't have the foot speed or the iq. If it ever happens you'll see. Benavidez is getting overrated now, it's ridiculous and I like the guy

Yeah, you definitely watched a different fight. Unless Plant trained for a five round fight, you should give DB more credit for corraling a guy running a track meet in a 21 foot ring and inflicting that sort of damage.

David Benavidez is a high IQ offensive fighter who chooses his punches correctly, doesn't over commit, and throws in between shots. He imploys a solid high guard and isn't all that easy to hit cleanly.

He is tough for anyone to deal with once he gets going. Bivol might find the same trouble against a Benavidez that is stronger at 175.

Let's see how he does vs Gvozdyk first, right now I wouldn't fancy his chances against either Beterbiev of Bivol.

Apparently he didn't have the foot speed or IQ compared to Plant and Andrade yet look what happened. The doubters still have not learned. Lets see if Bivol even has the balls to fight him. Last time when he was asked he used the standard ducking language of 'he has nothing to offer'.

What does Benavidez have to offer at 175lbs, where are his belts? And if he wanted another payday hed give Canelo another call.

I cant wait for Benavidez to be exposed like Ramirez was before. ****ing weight bully freak.

You fans are crazy. Benavidez is very good. But not as good as you believe him to be. Not only does Bivol beat him, he gives him a boxing lesson. No mention of Beterbiev because you already know how that ends

I am not terribly impressed by a guy fighting defensively against a much shorter, older guy coming up to his weight and refusing to up the intensity. He should've hammered Canelo the way DB will if Canelo buys himself some balls. I don't think that Bivol is anything extraordinary. Very good fighter. Nice, likeable persona. Nice face (*pause).

I just think that David is made of something tougher, meaner, and uglier. If it came down to it, he would find a way to outfight Bivol.

He ain't proven at the larger weight and Plant was stealing rounds off him. We know his gas tank sucks too, so it wasn't just the "body shots". Bivol handled him low difficulty. Realistically Canelo won 2 rounds max, and it could be scored 11 – 1. He will do a repeat performance on Benavidez believe that.

Benavidez's fans are out of lane because because Canelo is ducking him. That's all it really is.

So your theory is that Plant trained to fight five rounds. Got it. Absolutely nothing to do with the savage hooks to the body. I guess I will take your word for it.

Bivol should have upped the intensity if it was so easy. He landed 151 puches at a 21% clip. It would take Benavidez a couple of hot rounds to land 150 punches on a Canelo laying agsinst the ropes. LOL. That's all I'm saying.

Bivol is a low intensity fighter who hasn't ko'd anyone since his mid 20s. How the hell is he going to stop Benavidez from laying in to him? By running? He's going to have to fight eventually and I wonder if he still even remembers how.

But it's all moot unless Beterbiev gets old overnight.

He doesn't need to stop Benavidez he boxes his face off and outmaneuvers him. David is no better at cutting the ring than Canelo, and Bivol is always moving and changing rhythm. Bivol has already taken shots from bigger hitters too along with faster feet, handspeed, iq, and a better counterpuncher than Plant

Benavidez hasn't done anything at 175. Actually, if he does beat Gvozdyk, I still favor Bivol honestly. He gets sold short because he aint a KO artist. Its a common mistake of boxing fans. If the fight comes off you will see, told the Canelo fans the same thing.

Canelo is 5'7", doesn't punch while moving, has no jab, and loads up on his punches. He is essentially the opposite of Benavidez, who is 6'2", has a longer reach than Bivol, can lead with his jab and his straight right, punches coming in, and doesn't load up at all.

Benavidez is better suited to face Bivol and I can legit see how he would've handled him in their sparring sessions.

I would like to see the fight, but he (Bivol) has Beterbiev problems to deal with first and DB has his own business to take care of.

No question he's rooting for Bivol, though. No question at all.

He has already beaten taller people than Canelo and Benavidez. Height ain't an issue. It would be pressure but he isn't good at cutting off the ring. It's not as close as you think. When the fight happens you will see. Benavidez is overrated now

Bivol has already proven that theres no way Canelo can beat him even in Vegas with his pet judges. He took Canelo's soul & his heart, I truly hope Munguia gets a fair shot I cannot see him getting a decision in Vegas theres no way they'll let their cash cow lose AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! He'll have to stop Canelo to get a win I think we all know that. Id love to see the vegas judges & NSAC 's faces if Munguia starched Canelo
