Interesting to hear Warren talking about how they can agree the terms - either they accept what the tickets and TV are worth or risk a PPV. Not heard a promoter be that honest about things for a while.
So if I was listening correctly: 1. Heavyweight (Warren choice) 2. Featherweight (Hearn) 3. Middleweight (Warren) 4. Light-Heavyweight (Hearn) 5. Heavyweight 2 (Turki) Decent. And they don't need to be part of QP or Matchroom right now, sounds like ringers are allowed. And a Saudi-funded show at Wembley in September? Assume that's AJ-Fury if the chips fall that way...
Both of Parker’s last two fights have been above the 168 limit and he has spoken about wanting to fight Yarde and other 175lbers. If he was offered the slot he would 100% take it there is no doubt about it, especially with the money available. I guess Warren might choose Hutchinson though, but I think Zach is more likely. Ford has also already said he would hang on at the weight if he got the call- who wouldn’t for that type of money.
Surely the next logical step is to just f##k the promoters off and buy the sport. Dictate every fight you want made
Being let go from a firm that turns over nearly £300m a year at 10% net profit, of which he owns 30%, would be an interesting payoff
To be fair, you’ve got to love his excellency. He might hate LBGTQ+ and enjoy cutting off people’s hands for stealing but he’s a boxing legend already. Seems like a nice guy too. ‘ it’s not about the money ‘ hahaha
I’m putting two and two together based on his recent social media posts but looks like Willy Hutchinson will be the Queensbury LHW
Let’s hope that doesn’t happen because this will have a shelf life of, I imagine a few years at the most.
Tbh it’s easy to spend someone else’s money. Turki is worth about 2 million quid. Mega money to us but a relative pittance to that lot. He’s just the front for the newly formed government-funded Saudi Entertainment Group which is tasked with improving the countries reputation.
