Agreed, it's classless from Matchroom. Not the first promoters to do things like that, certainly won't be the last, but it doesn't justify it.

You may wish to consider whether you've found the most appropriate tone to accuse someone of bullying. :)

What can't be disputed is that the nexus of what they're saying is correct. Boxing on Sky has gone down the drain recently. I would have thought the best thing to do would be to ignore Boxxer now. All the smoke signals are that the Sky deal is winding down and won't be renewed. The recent Sunday Times stories have come out for a reason imho.

You start to wonder if Matchroom would willingly go back to UK on Sky and global on DAZN; Matchroom Media doing the production and Sky simply topping and tailing as needed. The top-end fighters like AJ will make plenty dough through well-advertised Sky PPV as before. There's nobody else in that league to attract subscriptions. Seemed to suit DAZN having the global rights for Saudi shows alongside Sky or TNT as well, what's the harm?

It'd be a bit of a comedown from Sky's "next generation" nonsense from 2022, second-rate fighters suddenly top of the bill, but there's nothing to be gained the way they're doing things just now. Get the sense they're only really interested in women's fights and PPVs.

What happened to "We want to work with everyone". Maybe the problem here is Boxxer.

Also quite disingenuous to say "his in long term promotional contract with the number 1 sports broadcaster in Europe" when in reality his in a promotional contract with Boxxer who cant buy a good PR story right now.

It might be conceivable that Sky Sports lets other promoters into their platform ?

Why do you think Adam Smith chose to sign a contract with GBM Sports ?

I assumed that was somewhere between "needing the work" and "something interesting but still in boxing". Totally conceivable that Sky could let others in, as occasional content rather than regular boxing.

There's a part of me thinking Sky goes down the pre-2012 road of multiple promoters, doesn't like working with them and then signs the next up-and-comer (or goes back to Matchroom) within a year or two!

I'll always have Sonni Martinez down as the first guy to beat Campbell Hatton, he absolutely clowned him that night, it's just good that the train has been derailed before the hype got ridiculous. Maybe Campbell will go away, work om his game, take four or five easier fights and see where it takes him, something tells me that he'll probably go down the Harley Benn route career wise although Campbell comes across as a better lad.

I think the L plates should stay on for the rest of this year , if Adam can have 2 or 3 more fights this year and get some more rounds in Vs decent comp then that's good ..

The plan is once the L plates are off , it's green light for anyone in 140lbs .. I would start with a former world champion like Regis P early 2025 and go from there .. Haney couldn't stop Regis if Adam can that would be the statement to get the ball really rolling ..

Sounds like a good plan. Nostrils Haney couldn’t punch his way out of a paper bag though and even if he could, he would too scared to try.

Darragh Foley type opponent for Azim next followed by a Richard Commey type opponent at the end of the year is my call.

Adam would love to fight Haney (No power, Weight bully, Lost to old small Loma, slow hands, very hittable) that's the master plan for the near future.. ..

Enjoyed that card, mostly decent scraps, with enough drama to keep my interest. Dalton Smith looked good, maybe one more fight away from a world title shot.
