    Did Valdez lose to Satterfield?

Past prime Valdes did good as Williams so I would have no problem to pick prime Valdes against Williams.
Valdes was Williams of his time, solid contender with good punch and nothing more.

    These records aren't correct.

Valdes is 5-6-1 with 3 KO's, (he also stopped McFadden in one fight) with 2 KO'd by (Machen & Liston)

Williams is 7-3-1 with I think 4 KO's (Holman, Johnson, Miteff, McFadden) and 3 KO'd by (Satterfield & Liston twice) Off boxrec, his win over Richardson was by DQ, and I don't believe Williams KO'd any of the others.

What to make of it? Not as much as it would seem on the surface. Williams outpointed Agramonte and Valdes KO'd him. Williams stopped Holman & Valdes outpointed him.

Williams big edge is drawing with the 1962 Machen while Valdes lost twice to the 1956 Machen.

But the other edges--Johnson & Miteff--I think are illusory. Valdes fought both when they were at their peaks and rising young contenders while Williams fought them when they were older and had slipped into trial horse status. Valdes lost decisions to both. Williams stopped both. This is where Williams gets his statistical edge.

    Taking Johnson & Miteff out, Valdes ends up 5-4-1 with 3 KO's. Williams 5-3-1 with 2 KO's.

    I stand corrected.

Williams was extremely green against Agramonte.

    I agree.

I agree. The recently turned 26 years old Miteff, just coming off a controversial razor thin (literally a half of a point) split decision "loss" to Chuvalo in his hometown, should've been in a retirement home along with the 27 year old Johnson.

Since we're taking out fights, can we also take out one of Williams' loss to Liston considering he fought him twice (unless of course you think Valdez would've had better luck in a rematch)?
