Is there any 180-199 pounder that could have done better against 1965 Ali

Pretty perfect example that you shouldn't believe things on random forums.

BUT why people react like I wanna discredit Frazier or that he was 190 pounds would hurt his legacy?

    Hear say heresy? :D

I guess at least he’s telling us he read it on a forum.

I had one poster tell me a factoid as if they saw the primary evidence for themselves.

They held out for ages before me telling me that they actually got their info from a post made on this forum by another member (member X) who allegedly sighted the primary evidence.

I replied, okay, so, relative to you, that is hear say evidenxce. They said NO, poster X saw the primary evidence for themselves and they had no reason to disbelieve them.

    WTF? Lol.

I said, okay, at least point me to this post made by member X. As it turned out, they couldn’t find that post.

So, he took hear say evidence and initially imparted it to me as fact. Then he couldn’t produce said hear say evidence (viz: the actual post by member X).

So, by the time the info imparted to me - what the hell was it? Hear say squared?

The cherry on top was the factoid was a reach listing.

To try and extricate themselves from their ever deepening hole, they said that a reach listing is hear say evidence anyway - since we ourselves didn’t make the measurement. :meparto:

The problem for them was that the wording was “X fighter’s reach was listed at...”, so if you said you saw said that listing, that isn’t hear say.

So beware, none of us every actually weighed Joe Frazier ourselves (at least I don’t think any of us did), so what the hell do know?

If all that is a touch complicated to follow, I understand - it was a pain in the *** to track through when it was going down in real time. Lol.

Frazier was never 195 in his prime ... he was always a 204 or so

I saw the Muhammad Ali vs Floyd Patterson title bout on Nov 22 1965 at the local high school on Closed Circuit Television, Ali toyed with the much smaller Patterson, making grunting sounds as he hit Floyd at will, Ali was much too fast, had catlike reflexes and timing. That night I do not think anyone could have beaten the slim and trim 23 year year old champion Ali. I remember Sonny Liston was introduced prior to the bout.

Marciano, Usyk, Holyfield, Dwight Qwawi (?), Dempsey would all be competitive vs Ali. He might defeat them all, but
they would be good fights. Honestly, I can see Usky beating him, as he is a lefty (Ali didn't face many) and very quick
and smart. Ali would have to pummel Holyfield to keep him away.

Don't worry buddy, he is being watched. When others become argumentative on an adult oriented site like this it has to do with being frustrated because of a lack of female companionship. This site is a site for different views, not word salad jibberish by childish trolls as our newcomer or shall I say banned returnees have demonstrated recently. We have a good group of posters who know their boxing.

For the March 8 1971 Fight Of The Century in Madison Square Garden, Champion Joe Frazier weighed in at 205 lbs, challenger Muhammad Ali weighed in at 215 lbs.

We all know that Usyk is a heavyweight. Even though he's officially a Cruiserweight, he's bigger than 1965 Ali on fight night. Ali in 1965 was 6'3 210 pounds. Usyk as a Cruiserweight comes into the ring that weight on fight night. And he's 220 at heavyweight. Cruiserweight Usyk is bigger than most pre 1970s heavies.

187-190 pound Holyfield would be competitive with Ali. Although I think Ali decisively wins or perhaps even a late stoppage with Holyfield taking too many unanswered punches and the ref stopping the fight. Dempsey and Rocky would be good fights, but I think Ali bests them. Qawi could do good, but 1965 Ali soundly beats him.

Well most of know or remember that Usyk used to be CW champ of the world weighed in at 200.
So he's a valid boxer for this question.
