The most common comparison I’ve seen for Corbett is Ali, in the sense that he essentially relied on speed instead of technique.

Judging from Corbett’s book, it seems like he knew all the basic boxing techniques but essentially chose to disregard them. I find the main difference between them being the fact that Ali just has much better punching technique.

    Do you find them comparable?

Winners will emerge undeterred by a lot of things in that there is something in the Muhammad Ali similarity. He was world heavyweight champion at the least.

They were both Out Boxers, but I do not really consider them comparable. The best version of Muhammad Ali was something we never saw before and may never see again.

They are comparable in the way they used youth and speed to upset seemingly indestructible terrorifying icons in their title victories when both were huge under dogs .. they were known for hand speed, foot speed, stamina, hubris and neither were big punchers as well ..
