Lampley doesn't know that Kostya Tszyu fought in the US after the Vince Phillips fight!

One obscure fighter fact? Are you for real? Tszyu was hardly an obscure fighter!

Sure but at any given time there are literally dozens of champions & contenders. Knowing when one of them happened to have fought in which environs, if it isn't particularly germane to his job (ie impacting the fights on the network on which he calls boxing) isn't exactly the fulcrum on which to tear down someone's credibility and determine they DKSAB. :nusenuse:

It's ignorance of one fact, not "everything outside HBO boxing".

I don't really agree with your complete post. You make some good points, a lot better than your previous post. He was great at calling fights, not trying to tear down his credibility.....sheeeeesh!

Eh, I'll take it there. He was a cheerleader for HBO marquee fighters. Rarely did he call the fights fair. He never seem to have any great analysis about styles or strategies. Although I will say he was great at making the fights sound exciting.

Tbf to him he said he couldn't recall not that it never happened. The guy is old and not as sharp as he used to be so give him a break.

Hes 74 and that was 20 years ago. I'm willing to bet Lampley doesn't spend his night reading boxing Wikipedia articles.

And a lot of Tszyu fights were on showtime iirc? Just imagine how many hbo places and fights he’s been to. The ones he doesn’t even want to be at, too.

Tszyu's best days were on Showtime. I don't think Jim has dementia and I never insuiated it. He was a great play by play caller. It is what it is.

Gotta be some age related confusion there I'm sure, all but 4 of Kostyas post-Phillips fights were in the US, including the Judah fight of course
