Couldn`t cope with the 80 inch reach, no head movement on the way in.

Such a calm balanced post like this has no place in here among all the emotion and pile on.

Cheers JT. I just didn’t realise there was so much personal dislike of Tim Tszyu, enough to distort the perceptions and conclusions of a number of otherwise sound analysts.

    It's certainly been eye opening.

I think tszyu would have won on the cards giving two of the score cards without the cut. But fundora who looked to me like had a broken nose was able to gain a little confidence. After round 5 or 6 I knew fundora was going to win the fight.

Id probably favour tim in the rematch but then again he'll probably win the first 2 rounds and then stub his toe and lose 9 of the next 10.

    Great balanced post mate,

Hopefully this will be on YouTube soon.

Id add that fundora was also brought in at a weeks notice so will have much better prep if when the rematch happens.

I also hear that tsyus was landing pretty easily until the cut?

I actually thought tsyu would bash him up and stop him in the later rounds.

Anyway not the lanky lads fault this happened so fair play to him.

I think the hate comes from him coming from being the son of a great boxer and being seen as entitled.

I don't understand it bloke will fight anyone even last minute and always brings the entertainment and he's beat some decent fighters.

    Some of them spectacularly.

    Nice balanced post yourself Champ.

Wasn’t looking to watch it but I happened to catch the fight just prior to the main on the undercard - Romero vs Cruz.

I assume you haven’t seen that either - check that out also, excellent fight.

Booo someone deleted my thread about fundora on cocaine. An April fools. You should should have ran with it in the name of April fools! Guess it's noon somewhere.

    regardless of the cut
    regardless of the outcome
i became a fan of both fighters. they both were class acts, and fought through adversity. what more could i, as a fan ask for?

Punch. Which meant, if Fundora could not continue, he would have lost without going to the score cards. Regardless, they both showed heart and toughness.

Any non-biased person who saw this fight and knows boxing knows:

    1. Tszyu was starting to bust him up and drive Fundora back with big shots the second half of the second round. It was pretty obvious that he was going to stop him in the next round. Fundora had no answers.

    2. Tszyu was a mask of blood in both eyes toward the middle of round 3 through the rest of the fight. That affects- a) the ability to see your opponent and therefore ability to land punches, b) ability to see punches coming and so will get hit more, c) losing a lot of blood over the course of a fight will weaken you, d) the mental aspect and panic caused by a cut like that will change how you fight- fighters will get reckless and desperate.

    3. Bottom line- the ref/doctor/corner should have stopped this fight after round 3. Countless fights have been stopped by accidental headbutts with far less bleeding and vision loss, it's a mystery as to why they would have let this go the full fight.

    4. Fundora probably won't take a rematch even if ordered, he knows full well how this fight would have ended had that elbow not landed.

Tszyu probably would have won the fight if not for the cut, yet his limitations also got exposed to some degree.

Both things can be true. I'd favor Tszyu in a rematch but by lower odds than heading into the first fight. He's a good but not great fighter.

Sure, because stubbing a toe is a fair comparison to an elbow in the head:eusa_doh:

Yes certainly not among the ATG Jr. Middleweights, but IMO the best out there right now.
