Pinklon had no business being in there. He was horribly prepared and really looked a shell of himself. He had no movement. Hardly threw any punches and seemingly had no answer to the brutal left hooks and combinations thrown by Evander. I think this bout should have been stopped sooner than it was.

Not to mention he was a raging heroine addict according to his book

I think that was the core of many of his problems.

Pinklon Thomas was definitely past his best against Holyfield.
But Holyfield at this time was such a beautiful fighter to
    watch.
His combination punching was at his best, no intentional
head butting, legs still had the bounce, and attacked
    from different angles.
Before packing on all that extra muscle that made him
inflexible, and becoming a walk in brawler, than the boxer
    puncher he was.

Absolutely...for a few yrs he lived a few miles away from me and I never realized it til I read his book. Jimmy Young and Meldrick Taylor both lived there at one time too. That area has Absolutely brutal Taxes too. One of the highest in PA

Thomas was totally shot by this point.

Really his last good performance was the 8th round KO of Mike Weaver

He looked mediocre losing his title to Berbick.

He looked really bad in his tuneups for the Tyson fight, and of course he was shellacked by Iron Mike.

Holyfiled, Bowe and Morrison mopped up on an empty shell.

Pinklon did not respect Holyfield. No way was he going to get knocked off his feet by a lightheavyweight/cruiserweight, was and is the thought.

I thought he gave a reasonably good effort against Tyson but other than that I agree with you

These days, Pinky appears a somewhat shrunken version of his prime self - though he seems to be in fair (not great) health otherwise.

Drugs are so bad. I’m no puritan but thankfully drugs were something I didn’t fall prey to…as to some other, relatively more innocent vices…yes

His dad who died in 2014 lived about a half hour from me. His dad lived to be 100 years old.

The guy was always on his toes! Always bouncing. Always had a combo ready to deliver and willing to brawl if need be.

Exciting to watch, especially his early days.

Holyfield-Dokes is still my favorite heavyweight slugfest.
