In 1984 Pinklon Thomas gave an excellent performance against Tim Witherspoon for the WBC title. This was just about the best I think I have seen of him. What if THAT version of Thomas had fought

    - 1986 Berbick
    - 1988 Evander
    -1990 Bowe
    - 1990 Mike Hunter
    - 1991 Morrion

I’ll leave out Tyson as I don’t think any version of Thomas beats him. And I also realize that the proposed dates of some of those other guys weren’t all necessarily at their best either . But how do you think 84 pink does against them ?

I’m inclined to agree. You don’t think he could swing it against that green version of Bowe though ?

That one did get me thinking. I see Bowe narrowly taking it.

Good thought. 1984 Pinklon beats the 'Bounty Hunter'

Pinky definitely had some skill. It's a shame he went down the 80 s drug road.

Pink really was the heavyweight savior for a couple years there. A new battle against Bowe would prove interesting...

I believe it's KO magazine with Pink on the cover and quoted as saying, "Larry Holmes betrayed boxing!" I want that issue.

You guys thinks he beats Holy? Yes, this was only Holy's second fight at HW, but at 210 lbs he had pretty much fully grown into his HW size and he was otherwise experienced and mature, so I'd clearly favour him to find a way, even though it might be tough at times.

He still performs in Branson, in his theater, Pinkland.

Yeah that’s kind of a 50/50 one for me. Evander was still very new to the heavyweight division although he already looked amazing. 1984 Thomas would have been A very tough fight. Looking at Pinklon against Witherspoon as opposed to Evander four years later was like day and night

Oh yeah, tat fight doesn't have much bearing on this. But Holy was still close to his best at HW, I think.

I agree. He was lightening fast and tenacious in that bout throwing combinations and crisp left hooks. His next fight against Michael Dokes was a classic.

Yep. And that's why I have to favour him.
