    Hi Greg'
From Tunney " I don't know what round it was, what I did know was I had deep cuts over both eyes, one of them sustained in the 1st round, my nose was bleeding heavily, and was later to have found to be broken, my corner had made up a tumbler filled with orange juice and bandy, in a vain attempt to revive me, in the event it made me giddy, and the result was I started to see 2 Grebs, believe me 1 Greb was all a man could handle, but 2 !!! after another 3 minutes of the merciless beating Harry was putting on me, I started for my corner and was promptly sick, how I made it to the final bell, I will neither know, I would get even with Harry a few times, but that fight will live with me forever, that Greb, he was one of a kind " we know.
    stay safe buddy, chat soon.

    Hi Mike,
Gene's skills and ring IQ may not yet have been what they would become, but no question the heart of a champion was already beat within his chest.

James Toney vs Iran Barkley. “The Blade” fought everybody and looked overmatched on paper but he’d pulled through it’s just here I think the weight cut and “Lights out” were too much for him that night. It was notably Irans last bout in or around 160 pounds.

Williams-Jack especially. Beau Jack had enormous strength but Ike didn't just KO him, he beat him senseless. By the end he was begging the ref to stop it.

i see Duran-Moore here twice already

    Ill add:
    Duran-Cuevas
    Chavez-Camacho
    Chavez-Haugen
    Gomez-Zarate
    Hamed-Vazquez
    Camacho-Ramirez
    Camacho-Limon
    Holmes-Frank

I mean, let's be perfectly frank: frankly speaking, Scott Frank did not win a single round in the latter. Thats my frank opinion.

Johnson vs Jeffries. Possibly overshadowed due to the fight’s greater ramifications but it was an extremely savage beat down in the sweltering sun over the best part of 15 rounds.

The old film might disguise it a bit but Jeffries’ face was a bleeding, grotesquely misshapen, swollen mess. Jeff was spitting out globs of blood throughout the contest.

If no gum shield, it’s hard to image that Jeffries didn’t lose any teeth. I think they used 4 ounce gloves back then so greater facial damage was far more likely - in balance, so too were hand injuries when punching full tilt.
