Just 're watched the fight on you tube . I hadn't seen it since July 86 as a 13 year old at my nans house. Was a much harder fight than I remember ! fought at a fast pace in the early rounds. Both men were really knocked about at the finish. No wonder spoon was pissed off that DK ripped him off !! Any other fights you have watched from years past that were different to how you remember ?

Remember watching this on ITV on a Sunday morning as a kid

Frank was loved in the UK so was really disappointing to see how it ended

Nostalgia will always make this a great fight for me

I was too young to be anything other than on the Bruno train tbh

Looking back, I honestly think Brunos act made him viewed as the Black guy you'd be friends with in what were very strained times for race relations in the UK

I'd like to think I'm wrong tho

Yeah but in England, we've always backed the underdog

Bruno beat some good boxers before he got his shot......also he won 8 or 9 rounds against Smith ....Makhmudov didn,t

As a lad I thought Frank would win .Spoon looked chubby and unfit in comparison. The idiots who ran the tabloids thought the same they didn't have the excuse of being 13 !! My dad however pointed out that spoon had took Holmes to a split decision

beat Tubbs etc he said Frank would get hammered !! Ha ! What did he know !!

Certainly not average he was ahead on points vs an ATG in Lennox Lewis and actually won a world title.

The only fighter who really beat Bruno convincingly was Tyson all of his other losses were in very competitive fights.

Bruno had a very good jab and elite power his issue was he froze when he was hurt and didn't have the best of stamina probably too muscle bound.
