Some boxers tend to be have lapses in fights, choose not to fight the full rounds, and make some of their fights closer than necessary (perhaps even losing) due to either laziness, arrogance, or stamina issues. Whether it be starting too slowly in the first few rounds, being too patient, coasting, exhaustion, waiting too long for one big punch, or intentionally giving away rounds by disengaging and clowning around because of the belief to have done enough to win the fight. Who were some fighters that have a bad habit of giving away rounds on more than one occasion because of the above mentioned?

Lomachenko gives away a couple early rounds. That's why he lost to Lopez and Haney.

Wilder, mainly for just waiting around for the right opening.

    David Tua as well...

I feel like Winky Wright had a habit of doing it in a couple of his big fights the 12th round vs Jermain Taylor and the later rounds vs Fernando Vargas spring to mind.

Jose Luis Lopez has to be the poster child for this thread though, all the talent in the world but he just wasn't willing to work hard enough and liked to fight in spurts too much. He had James Page down twice and rocked numerous times but just wasn't willing to let his hands go enough, vs Quartey he spent a majority of the first 6 rounds just stalking Quartey without letting his hands go. He also had Quartey down twice and didn't enough early on to get the nod in another winnable fight had he just let his hands go more.

Micky ward- he quoted that he always started late in the fights, giving away early rounds and he didn't know why, so he vowed to come out from the opening bell starting faster. No late starts.

Joe Frazier used to take some time to get into a rhythm, build the fight and warm up to a guys timing. Strategically “Smokin” Joe didn’t take a rest or anything. I can’t think of fighters I watch often enough to say who took rounds off.

Unlike the norm, his stamina level was inversely proportional to what round it was.

    Yes. Thank you.

    Rocky Juarez also. Too complacent.
