Seriously, this thread has flushed out one or two idiots who are prepared to trash a legend. For no good reason whatsoever.

And make no mistake, Inoue is a legend.

It baffles me when so called fans want to denigrate the very fighters who make this sport great.

I don't mean to defend Ryan, who seems to have lost his mind all these days, but there is a serious mistake in the automatic translation of Inoue's comment.
軽量級 (keiryoukyuu) is mistranslated as light weight divisions.
A more accurate translation of the word would be lighter weight classes or lower weight divisions.
Ryan has been fighting at lightweight all his life, so he may have been offended by Inoue's mistranslated comments. I don't know the exact nuance though since English is not my first language.

I completely agree with Inoue, all roads lead through him.................and Japan for his division. I'll be honest I didn't even realize he had fought in America until a couple years ago. There was no fan fair for it, no real marketing etc.

He has the right to pull contenders to where he is, why should he come here?

I've heard the gate $ vs Nery is over 20,000,000 USD. A lot of these smaller fighters are actually better known in Japan because Japanese fighters at the world level tend to be small.

Compare Luis Nery and Ryan Garcia over the past 5 years in Japan:

    https://trends.google.com

He's cashing in on the Japanese market. Can you blame him? If he keeps on like this he might be able to bring someone like Tank or Ryan over to Japan eventually. I personally think we'll see him move on to 126 next year but we'll see.

Look, he's got a lifetime of people sending him clips of his new fiancee performing all manner of unspeakable acts on other men to look forward to.

The guy is a headcase and is not to be taken seriously.

You claim Pac is a drug cheat OK Now explain to me when this happened. Remember your hero Mayweather made the same claim , Pac immediately sued the Mayweathers. Of course they had no proof whatsoever of any wrong doings & they had to apologize Plus compensate Pac for falsely accusing him. I hope for your sake Pac doesn't sue you lol

Japanese boxing culture is just superior. I do enjoy the times when boxing matches had whores with cigarettes, crooks, and misfits hiding in the half-light surrounding the ring, but the modern Vegas filled with trophy wives, You Tubers, pseudo-stars, and mandatory show-up bored neophites doesn't do it for me. I much prefer the silence and occassional applause of the Japan folks who at the very least attempt to show respect to those gods of war. It makes them shout for Inoue to fight harder all the more special.

Hs's had 2 fights in his current weight class. His first fight at 122 was less than a year ago.
