I would actually say Wladimir Klitschko is more known for his losses than wins despite winning over 20 odd championship fights.

People seem to forget about Wilfredo Gomez's 17 straight knockout wins in title defenses.

All they talk about is his loss to Salvador Sanchez.

Gene Fullmer and Dick Tiger are both remembered best for dramatic defeats. The “Utah Cyclone” was immortalised with an album cover for it actually. Ezzard Charles is mostly I’d say known for the 3rd fight with Jersey Joe Walcott or hanging on with Rocky Marciano. Would everyone agree that the most recognised fights of Thomas Hearns career were losses? I’d say so the same is true of Wilfredo Benitez.

I think Vitali Klitschko as well. His career is mostly remembered more for his stoppage loss to Lennox Lewis more than when he dominated post-Lewis.

Trevor Berbick is mostly known for getting blown-out by Mike Tyson and drop kicked by Larry Holmes.

I’d say those fights he did lose were among his most entertaining barring Corrie Sanders. Against AJ I was on my feet screaming to finish it, it was the only time I’d been vocal for a fight. if “Dr Steelhammer” had won it wasn’t impossible for him to have beaten AJ again or perhaps unify with Deontay Wilder? Or even rematch with Tyson Fury? There were so many possibilities and even in defeat my admiration was huge.

    Duk Koo Kim

Which usually results in him being disparaged as some no-hoper who accidentally somehow stumbld into a championship fight and somehow gave Mancini a titanic struggle despite being really a pathetic journeyman which just shows Mancini must have been grossly overrated too.

The standard bearer here is one ,,John the Beast Mugabi. His spirited effort in losing to Hagler is considered far better than any win he had.

If good old Trev had gone down in a pile against Tyson and just laid there, he'd not be half as remembered!
But that flying around like a pinball is never gonna be forgotten!

    Jose Luis Castillo.
Great champion, but He's most remembered for his 2 fights with Floyd Mayweather and first fight with "Chico" Corrales. Not the worst losses You could have that stuck in people's minds, but He had his share of excellent wins as well.

If the name Yvon Durelle is brought up - I bet we all think of his first fight with Archie Moore, before anything else.

Andrew Golota, seemed so close against Bowe twce, had Grant down twice and lost, had Ruiz down twice and lost.... so close yet so far.
