If so, this probably contributed to him retiring at the perfect time.

 

Ingo and Karl Mildenberger would have been a good fight in their primes.

 

I wonder if he ever played hide the sausage with Anita Eckberg. One wonders.

 

It's a shame a lot of other fighters didn't follow Ingo s example and get out of the game at the right time.

Ingo was all but KO'ed by Lomdon .. he was knocked flat , barely made it top and was out on his feet when saved by the bell ... he was done ...

Man, Ingo did barely beat the count, I don't blame London for being mad. I think that the left hook that Patterson landed on Ingo on June 20 1960 weakened his jaw.

 

True the count was fast and the two punches that knocked him down were illegal. Should have been given time to recover.

 

He was known to be one of those guys that really didn't like fighting and, after the Patterson victory, didn't train much.

 

I believe it was Ingo who was disqualified in the 1952 Olympics for not fighting during a bout.

 

The IOC eventually did give him the silver medal but not until 1982
