Was reading today about a goalkeeper that was shown 2 yellows and the controversy that he was allowed to stay in the game. It got me thinking of fouls in boxing that were overlooked or ignored for one reason or another. Here is one that is so blatant and all he gets is spoken to. This is Floyd Patterson against Charley Green. Check out the sequence at 1:10 of this vid. Green gives Floyd 3 full-blooded rabbit punches before ending it with a tomahawk chop to the back of the head. He's only cautioned by ref Tony Perez, whom I never thought much of. Show me some more blatant fouls that were ignored or received a slap on the wrist.

Pedroza against Laporte. I read he got away with over 40 fouls and wasn't disqualified. The WBA loved them some Pedroza.

Not only that, but the last two occurred while Patterson was on a knee. Wonder what he would have had to do to get a point deduction...

@ikrasevic posted this one awhile back. I don't believe there was a point deduction here either...

That was ridiculous! 3 shots while he was down and nothing?

Daiki vs Daisuke. If my memory is correct Daiki gets three point reductions in the final round but is not disqualified. He also might have got another point reduction in another round.

Wow, Gainer-Norwood was foul-filled, but that second fight, the first thing I thought of was that there was no way I would be hugging that pr**k at the end of the fight.

Here's one I thought was crazy. The second fight between Calvin Grove and Lester Ellis. Check out at 24:55 of the vid. Ellis goes down and his Australian ref gives him ample time with a slow count and then makes sure Grove is way back in his corner before Ellis spits out his mouthpiece. The ref is about to give him more time when the bell rings. But watch Ellis right after the bell rings. He clocks Grove with a rabbit punch when he was walking away and of course, nothing said or done. It was poetic justice when Grove ended matters.

Rocky Marciano hitting Don Cockell with kidney shots, elbows, headbutts, low blows, punching him when he was down, a dossier of fouls for sure.

This one always made me laugh/cry. The ref was so corrupt. This is Juan Coggi v Eder Gonzalez I and at 1:40 of this clip, the referee actually allows Coggi's cornerman to stand on the ring apron holding the back of Coggi's trunks because he couldn't stand up. And then the timekeeper got involved by ringing the bell early in several rounds. In this round it appears to be app. 20 seconds early. But the foul in this case - besides the corruption - was allowing the corner up on the apron to assist. My God! This one never ceases to amaze me.

I’ve always said Coggi-Gonzalez 1 is the most egregious robbery ever.

That is Luis Lazarte committing every foul imaginable.

He was involved in this not too long later:

That last round was so ridiculous. Kameda with multiple takedowns.
