    Instead of Hagler?

So SRR at welter and above against Sugar Ray Leonard, Duran and Hearns?

How do you think this 'Fab 4 "plays out?

I’m going to sound crazy …but I actually think Wilfred Benetiz would give Sugar Ray Robinson more trouble than any of those 3 mentioned above

Surely you don't pick Robinson to beat Hearns at 154

Hearns was mighty. Especially at 154. He was a God.

I’m honestly not sure how that would turn out. I would worry most about Hearns for him. Tommy might not rank as high as Duran or Leonard but with his tall rangy style and punching power I can see him being a troublesome opponent for Robinson

If by some chance one of them beats SRR they better be ready for a rematch in 3 weeks

Oh man in double checking the time between those LaMotta fights I forgot that he fought LaMotta 6 times

Imagine if Duran and Leonard fought 6 times

Yeah Hearns had the combination of style and physical tools that could pose as an issue for Robinson. I’m not definitely saying he’d beat SRR but I can’t think of any reason why it would be an easy match

Personally I see Duran beating Robinson at least once if they fought 3 times. Lomatta gave him hell, and really was a middleweight fighting Robinson at welterweight, but he wasn't on the same planet as Duran as far as skills go. Duran at his best would be a very serious challenge for Robinson. Robinson had issues with brawlers, Duran was that, but with a PhD skill level.
Benitez could be a serious issue for Robinson, if they fought 3 times , Robinson probably wins all 3, but it wouldn't be easy for him. Benitez's incredible defense and countering ability would keep Robinson honest, Benitez would be forced to fight defensively, his offensive out put wouldn't be enough to win.
Hearns would be tough because of his height , reach, power and speed. But Robinson probably beats him 3 out of 3, Robinson's granite chin and dynamite power would enable him to survive and win entertaining shoot - outs....
Hagler, as we've seen could be taken out of his game. A fighter that know how to use feints, not get caught up trying to knock him out, make him over think instead of letting his hands go.
Robinson could do that, plus he carried dynamite in his gloves. That would keep Hagler honest . Robinson wins 3out of 3, perhaps easier than one may think.
    Ray Leonard vs Ray Robinson......
The dream match up. Robinson carried more dynamite in his gloves, but Leonard could get their faster.
If they fought 3 times prime vs prime 1 -1 and a draw. Yes its that close. Robinson's biggest advantage over Leonard was activity and staying power, and Rightfully so Robinson deserves to be called the greatest welterweight of all.
But Leonard may have beaten better competition. Especially when considering the short span of time of his career .
They were basically carbon copies of each other, with very subtle differences.
So Robinson's has 12 wins, 2 losses with one draw against the Fab Five.
    Maybe that's the reason he's the G.O.A.T

Sugar Ray Robinson is the greatest offensive fighter in history ….so to me …the guy with the best chance of beating him…would be the best COUNTER PUNCHER in history (Benetiz)

Sugar Ray Robinson would have had the most trouble with Sugar Ray Leonard who couldn’t be counted out in any fight at 147lbs. Thomas Hearns could win with the right plan using his length but more often he and Roberto Duran wouldn’t be able to withstand an overwhelming force like the “Death Ray” he’d have got them out of there eventually and Marvin Hagler is a dead heat contest.
