So your last comment was you admit Haney is taking advantage of having considerable weight advantage in his fights. So wouldn't you say it's nice that a weight bully has finally had the tables turned on him ? What's the difference ? Haney has been enjoying having considerable weight advantage in mostly all his fights. So why should I not feel its justice that Haney has finally had it done to him ? And I guarantee Garcia's weight advantage over Haney is not in the same ball park compared to Haney vs most of his opponents. I'm sorry I'm not agreeing with you Haney has had mostly every advantage in most of his fights and even last night had a sus judge and a biased referee hard to feel sympathy for him.
Of course. If You can do it properly, which is not always easy(How many times We hear fighters saying They lost because They killed themselves making weight?) - it gives great advantage. The difference between that and failing to make weight is about as the difference between body shot and a low-blow. I don't know how else to explain it. Both can give you an edge, but one is legal and open option to anyone, other is breaking the rules, or contract you make with your opponent - regardless of whether You can pay your way out of it or not. For me it's also not so much about sympathy for Haney - I rather don't like the fact that Garcia will be able to get away with it. I think it's sleezy, it's cheating and I hate when fighters do it. Be it Nery, Broner or whoever else. Don't think You deserve full credit for the win under those cirumstances. As for fighters putting on a lot of weight after the weigh-in - If You don't like the fact that rules allow it - I'm with You. I think boxing would be much better if there was way to prevent it from occuring, but as it is it's a part of the sport and I don't think it's fair to say to fighters They can't use it to their advantage. What should Haney have done? Moved up to 147... and fight Spence who'd be as much bigger than him as He was bigger than Lomachenko? It's part of the game, fighters are trying to maximise their chances of succeeding. I'm also not sure why is Haney so singled out in here. There's plenty of guys who cut just as much. Goulamirian looks enormous at Cruiserweight. Zurdo was huge at 168 and 175. Beterbiev was fighting at heavyweight in amateurs and is also certainly walking around heavy. Canelo said He doesn't want to fight Benavidez because He'll have 20-25 pounds on him... and so on, and so on
Haney is a Jr Middleweight/Middleweight who rehydrates down to Lighweight, Jr Welterweight. As I said hes been doing it to other fighters so that's why I feel like its poetic justice that's hes had a bit of a taste of his own medicine. Heres an easy way to settle this Garcia has said hes moving up to 147 if Haney wants a chance at redemption and thinks the weight made a difference then let's have the rematch at 147 and settle it once and for all.
It was a robbery, even 1 judge calling this a draw is a disgrace. I just watched it back and all I can say is Garcia clearly won rounds 1, 6, 8, dropped him in 7, 10, 11. One of the rounds I think it was 10 Haney was down a further 2 times and there were punches that led to that just because he starts holding in the lead up to the knockdown doesn't mean it's not a knockdown. Out of the remaining rounds there's a few you could still give Garcia like 9,12 and others plus the point deduction was BS. Look at Haney's record he did nothing to warrant mandatory status at lightweight. NOTHING. Tell me who he beat to be mandatory. We Be Crooks always look after the American and Mexican names.
160 << GGG here weighing 170 with a 70'' reach 154 147 140 << Haney here weighing 165 with a 71'' reach << Rougarou here weighing 154 135 << Haney here weighing 160 << Loma 140 max Haney weighed 2lbs and 3lbs less respectively for his 140 debut than career 160 GGG weighed for Proksa and Rosado The fact Haney weighed 9lbs more than career 140 Rougarou who is a big 140 who struggles to make that weight for his 140 debut speaks volumes. How do you weigh 9lbs more for your debut at the higher weight than your opponent who is a career fighter at that weight and is a big fighter at that weight? And the 9lb lighter Rougarou would've been the closest in weight to him out of all the fighters he'd fought You think tiny blown up 130 shot OAP Gamboa, completely washed old inactive Linares, and Kambosos weighed any less than two divisions less than him? It was plain to see Haney looked much bigger than them all. Or what about tiny old past prime blown up 126 Loma? The size disparity between them in the ring was obscene, let alone walk around weight. Remember when Haney came into the ring for Loma's post-fight interview for the Jermaine Ortiz fight and Loma jokingly said after seeing how enormous Haney was: ''This is lightweight? He looks like heavyweight'' This content is protected 135 pounder Loma standing next to a 118 pounder This content is protected Haney standing next to a CW/HW who walks around at 16st This content is protected And, as I said last night, I have heard a boxing insider say they've been informed by numerous reputable sources within the trade that Haney has allegedly missed weight a bunch of times himself and it has been covered up And let's not forget that he's not only rehydrating 20-25lbs after weigh ins he also had a minimum of 36 hours to do so against Loma and maybe others too, for a fight between the smallest 135 pounder in the sport who is tiny for the weight and the biggest 135 pounder ever. At least 12 extra hours than the standard 24. That's ridiculous. Do I need to post the photos of Haney looking like death on the scales at 135 again to prove how much of a weight bully he is? He had to hide his skeletal self behind a hoodie and sunglasses before being quickly whisked off in a car for the legit weigh in the morning of the fight after being weighed in a private room with a few people in it, none of whom his opponent's team members. Why have they started doing weigh ins like that and 36 hours or more before the fight? They used to be public events with your opponent's team members present. This content is protected
Well, We have another big fight with weight-bully involved coming up pretty soon. Hopefully Dmitry Bivol serves Beterbiev some taste of his own medicine - and comes in overweight. He should probably load up his gloves too. Show that guy how it feels to fight a guy with unnatural power!
Is say it's me like 4 divisions mate. I'm trying to think of someone who cuts weight that much. Virgil Ortiz springs to mind who hot footed it as soon as he had to fight someone good in stanionis and also was damaging his health. Canelo as well back in his 154 days. Something should be done about it though as it's making a mockery of weight divisions. As some one said. Think it was Serge Weighed in 4 lbs less than ggg for his light welter debut did haney. Enough said.
The robbery of Hughes was disgusting. Then they shafted him again his team by not sorting out a visa and ended up flying back and forth.
Hahaha that picture with bellows. Thinking about it pretty sure old tone was a super heavy in the ams.
I hate the extreme weight cutters myself. We have weight classes for a reason and that's to give us fights wherein the fighters are appropriately matched physically. I don't want to see bouts wherein one fighter is two classes above his opponent by the time they get to the ring regardless of the sacrifices the weightcutter made to be 20lbs lighter the day before.
Rougarou saying it was in the contract that Haney wasn't supposed to blow way back up heavy as he did after the weigh in and he also implies Haney uses illegal IVs to make weight. Again, a boxing insider has been reliably informed by reputable sources within the sport that Haney has missed weight multiple times and it has been covered up and they also implied he's using illegal methods to get down that low and rehydrate way back up. I don't doubt for a second that Haney is using IVs. In fact, I'd be shocked if he wasn't and the fact he's been working with disgraced former PED guru Victor Conte for many years certainly puts him in the highly suspicious bracket This content is protected
