Ironically he's actually never been top dog. Never fought Loma when he was the best SFW. Never fought Haney when he was the best LW. Never fought Lopez when he was the best LWW.
Don’t forget, Tank needed a dehydration clause against Garcia. Davis is a ducking little mumbly mouth ***** who never fought a prime opponent at his weight. Garcia was barely a prospect when they fought and Tank needed a restrictive weight clause. It’s funny because I don’t recall any dehydration clauses when tank fought smaller guys. Garcia fought a dumb fight against Tank. I doubt Tank will ever agree to a rematch and highly doubt Garcia will agree to a dehydration clause again. Not sure how long Tank can avoid top prime guys but he’s done it for so long, nothing would surprise me.
Not shocking because he banked a lot of rounds in fact in the first 6 rounds he clearly won 5 of them. Knockdowns and left hooks changed the trajectory of the fight.
I've been saying for years now that Tank is better than Haney, Garcia, Lopez and Shakur. There was no reason for him to have a rehydration clause with Garcia all it did was taint his victory. I bet that Tank is kicking himself that he didn't make a fight with Haney sooner as he would legit be rated P4P if he took out Garcia and Haney back to back. It's too bad he allows his career to be managed by cocksuckers like Leonard Ellerbe and Al Haymon.
