    Completely agree with Paulie

Haney being spoke about in a P4P sense was always over the top. They are similar in that they both just standard good technical boring fighters with no power. Difference is Haney has had the whole Boxing establishment of the WBC, judges, referees holding his hand helping him.

But at Paulie at least had a chin - imagine having no power and no chin!!

Who of these 4 in their prime would Haney beat? Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Baby Bull Diaz and Amir Khan.

Would Paulie beat Prograis? The Loma fight would have been even more one sided against Paulie. Idk if Paulie even beats Linares if they were the same size.

The decrepit versions that Haney fought? Absolutely.

Agreed but Paulie was tougher and not a fragile weight bully diva

Haney is a product of the US hype machine/gigantic weight bully with good boxing skills not P4P ones whose basic supposedly ''elite skills'' consist of being gigantic for the weight which enables him to hold huge physical advantages over his opponents and keep it long against leprechauns he's much bigger than, and whose primary form of defence is octopus hugging his opponent to death all night.

He forged a career beating up on old leprechauns and old shot to smithereens leprechauns he's way bigger, heavier and longer than, and prior to facing Ryan only having fought two legit punchers (one of whom was old and shot) and never having fought a puncher close to his size

With a couple of wins over prime one dimensional extremely favourable stylistic match ups in Kambosos who cannot deal with backfoot boxers to save his life

And Rougarou who cannot close the distance to save his life against backfoot rangy boxers

And even then Haney was still much bigger and heavier than both

He knew Kambosos was a one-hit wonder who can't deal with boxers because his assistant trainer caused Kambosos a loads of problems and took him to a SD despite the fact he was old, past his prime, much smaller than Haney and had only fought once in 3.5 years

He knew Rougarou was another perfect stylistic fit for him because he watched a rangy backfoot boxer dollar store version of himself in Zorilla arguably beat Rougarou and drop him and cause him nightmares in Rougarou's previous fight. Rougarou looked utterly clueless on how to close the distance against both and even suffered two almost identical KDs against both, which Haney obviously learned from watching Zorrila drop him

Haney ducked the rematch against Loma even though the vast vast majority of fans across the globe had him losing the fight and he knew that he would've had home advantage again, with a home ref and three judges again, a freaking 20lb weight advantage, a near six inch reach advantage, a huge youth advantage against an old past prime blown up 126 pounder who is tiny for 135 in order to face a far more favourable stylistic match up against Rougarou.

It's funny when people cite Haney's supposedly excellent resume whilst completely ignoring context

Gamboa - 39 y/o, much smaller, shot to bits, was coming off a stoppage loss, whose form at 135 is trash, and had only stopped like 2 of his previous 12 opponents IIRC

Linares almost 36, completely washed, much smaller, hadn't fought in 15 months, 3-2 in his last 5 fights, both loses via KO, one to a badly injured much smaller natural 126 pounder

Jojo - career 126/130 featherfist, way smaller, is like 2-4 at 135 but could easily be 1-5 because the Fortuna fight could've gone either way, and had only stopped 2 of his previous 12 IIRC

Kambosos - much smaller one-hit wonder, had won his previous three fights via SD, has won all his fights against world level opponents via SD or MD, cannot deal with boxers to save his life, as evidenced by his SD wins over a an old, past prime inactive Bey, a past prime career 126 Selby, a robbery win against Maxi Hughes, and two losses to Haney

Rougarou - the first prime legit puncher Haney fought, a lot smaller, cannot deal with backfoot boxers, arguably lost his previous fight to a dollar store version of Haney, and is totally inept ay being able to close the distance to actually make his power count

Loma - a way smaller past prime blown up 126 pounder who is an old 35 y/o with a lot of miles on the clock and injuries, who is tiny for the weight class, doesn't belong at it, a weight which would be at least his sixth or seventh one had he turned pro in his late teens like many of his peers, and who Haney needed a gift to get by even though he had a 20lb weight advantage, a near six inch reach advantage, a huge youth advantage, home advantage, a home ref and three home judges and a 36 hour weigh in.

Do you have any idea how obscene it is for a natural leprechaun division fighter like Loma to be giving away 20lbs in weight and almost six inches in reach? Many act like it would be obscene and extremely unfair for Inoue to give away 7-10lbs and 3'' in reach , Loma does that bare minimum damn near everytime he fights at 135 and often more or a lot more and many times against big or huge punchers at that weight, not light hitters or featherfists

Loma is the one who put in all the hard work winning three of the four belts individually on the road in a division full of giants he doesn't belong in. Teofimo and Haney were just massive weight bullies who won them all or three of them in one fell swoop against much smaller opponents, Teofimo at home with a home ref and three home judges

    Haney 71'' reach

    Loma 65.5'' reach
    Gamboa 65'' reach
    Jojo 64'' reach
    Kambosos 68'' reach
    Rougarou 67'' reach
    Ryan 70'' reach
    Linares 69'' reach

All of whom Haney was much or way heavier than

Notice how two of the three actual punchers he fought who came closest to matching him for reach were able to hurt him badly or in Ryan's case bounce his fugly female dog/octopus ass off the canvas like a yo-yo

    Agreed.

Loma is the only one mentioned that could hang with the excellent fighters of yesteryear.

Yes, when you compare what he's done/doing in terms of the huge physical advantages he's routinely giving away that no one in the P4P top 15 are sans Usyk, number of world champions fought (he will be facing his 13th in 21 fights which is an insane stat) and almost all of whom his size, bigger or way bigger not way smaller, almost all in their primes, all bar possibly one legit champs, all of which is a the complete opposite of what someone like Twink is doing, number of punchers fought, many bigger or way bigger than him, fighting on the road or in his opponent's backyards, with zero home refs or judges, and he's actually doing it whilst demonstrating sublime legal skills and incredible offence and defence not running, hugging, fouling, weight bullying, deck-stacking, and weakening or crippling his opponents with catchweights and rehydration causes at the negotiating table - it's very different to what many of his celebrated and highly ranked P4P peers are doing but people completely ignore this

I agree he does not get the recognition he deserves in many of the regards that you mentioned. He is truly a great fighter, I only wish that his level of competition had been like what we had in the past but unfortunately that does not exist for modern day Fighters, several of whom I think would have ended up true ATGs.

Agreed. As would have Hatton, Zab Judah and Broner. When you have as little power as Haney has, guys like the 3 I mention there would eat him alive. Cotto murders him.
