He's 34 and despite being a HW is the type of fighter who relies on reflexes rather than strength or thudding power. As soon as his speed goes he's finished at world level. Plus obviously he doesn't work hard to keep himself in shape between fights.

I agree with you that his long-term health probably will be a lot better this way, but he has left a lot of money on the table.

I mostly agree with you. His hand speed and reflexes are his advantage. Once he slows down, even a little, he will get lit up.

His brain is taking less of a beating by not fighting but his arteries, pancreas and liver surely are taking damage.

Rumor is he was pricing himself out of fights after the 2nd Joshua fight.

After a performance like that, he's lucky the phone was still ringing.

As if the only way Andy can only get motivated to trim down is a billionaire taking interest in his weight

 

It's such a shame that Ruiz has been so inactive since the AJ rematch. He could of been a big draw and a top 10 fixture in the heavyweight division and would of surely have had either another title shot, a trilogy with AJ or a rematch with Parker by now but instead has squandered his opportunity.

 

Hopefully Ruiz gets KO'd. Annoying simpleton.
