    Mike McCallum against Golovkin?
Mike took the best shots from Julian Jackson, how's he do against this hard hitting guy?

McCallum PTS. Something like a 7-5 over 12. Sure GGG is powerful but he's not refined like McCallum was.

Golovkin at his best wins a close 12 round decision, GGG is a much better fighter than Jackson with higher boxing skills.

I got McCallum by close points in a great back and forth fight. McCallum's sharper counters and defense would be the difference. I think McCallum outboxes Golovkin on the outside and can fight on even terms inside. Golovkin's power won't be enough to deter McCallum who has a great chin.

The best version of Golovkin beats him convincingly. If McCallum was that good he'd have the most defences in middleweight history and instead it's Golovkin that does.

McCallum by decision smoother better boxer and fought a much higher caliber of opposition.

Using that logic Ottke is better than RJJ at Super Middleweight because of his record amount of title defences.

McCallum spent 30 odd fights at Jr Middleweight and didn't spend anywhere near the amount of time Golovkin did at Middleweight. If Golovkin had to fight a prime James Toney and Sumbu Kalambay his record amount of title defences would've been cut shorter aswell.

I have always been a Golovkin fan, but, he would be outmatched here. The Body Snatcher wins a competitive decision. McCallum is too skilled, too smart, too tough for Golovkin. Both men have excellent chins, so, it definitely goes the distance. I know that Canelo aged Golovkin out a few years, but, the fact remains that GGG struggled with Canelo. He also struggled with the mediocre Jacobs, the undersized Brook, and, the over the hill Dervyencecko. Quite frankly, GGG really has no wins over an elite boxer in their prime. It also troubles me that when things would get tough in a fight, GGG rarely made the necessary adjustments or turned up the heat when necessary. This cost him against Canelo, and, almost cost him against Jacobs and Dervyenchencko. I believe it would cost him against McCallum, who was one of the finest Middleweight technicians in the last 50 years.

Wrong. Guys like you would be calling Toney and Kalambay mediocre fighters and Wondering when will Golovkin ever step it up.

But yeah, I'll take the career middleweight at middleweight. If you want to make a case McCallum beats GGG at 154, that would be more plausible.

And I'll add, MM barely beat Herol Graham whose greatest achievement at middleweight was a single defence of the European MW title. A guy like Jacobs would have put Herol Graham in a box.

Well considering Kalambay and Toney would be by far Golovkin's best wins that's a negative.

Golovkin has good statistics in regards to title defences but his opposition was not that stellar.

Herol Graham would be one of Golovkin's top 5 opponents.

Or he'd been seen as another Willie Monroe, the slickster that was going to give him trouble and got knocked out for his efforts.
