Have these guys even fought since the last one?

I mean I know Leo got KTFO by Tank
But that was a devastating loss.

Will Amber be wearing his sun glasses in the ring come fight night?

Sells tickets. I don´t mind fights like this as long as they are not main events.

But if this is another PPV, then I will be furious.

 

Emo Santa Cruz had a comeback fight a year or so after that loss but that was in 2022.
Mares made a comeback attempt the same year but it resulted in a draw.
Seems like this is a farewell fight for both guys. Cruz is 35 and Mares is 38 now.

 

It's just undercard filler. It would probably be a fun fight.

Hoping Mares considers something other then boxing soon, win or lose. He's almost 40 and has been around forever. I'm ok with two fighting in all honesty, it will likely be a good fight and it's better than then padding the record of some up and comer.

 

I don't mind these types of matchups as much because old guys are fighting each other. What I don't like is older fighters getting fed to younger contenders and potentially badly KOd.

 

This is an OK fight I guess since it is undercard filler .

 

I think they scrapped this fight off of this card, but they might fight At a later date.

 

I thought Abner Mares was going blind from damage? Who cleared him to fight?

 

This is a useless fight that goes nowhere. It does nothing for the sport except give two washed up has beens a pay day.

 

This rubber match that nobody asked for. I'm surprised both are still fighting.

 

They aren't. Neither has fought since 2022. Mares made an attempt at a comeback after years of retirement, which ended in a draw. Cruz made a comeback after getting knocked the **** out by Tank in 2020.

 

Let's hope they both get paid well and decide to call it quits after this one. I didn't think both fights were anywhere near close enough to even warrant a third fight.
