August third in Los Angeles. Official announcement coming this Wednesday. Both the WBA regular world championship (1st defense of Madrimov) and vacant interim WBO championship (with Sebastian Fundora required to face the winner next upon return from injury or else relinquish the full title) at 154lb at stake.

The return of Andy Ruiz Jr. in the co-main event, opponent TBA.

Crawford is seven years older and half an inch shorter, with a 5½ reach advantage. Madrimov didn't even begin his amateur career until a few years after Crawford's pro debut - and Crawford bagged his first world title four years before Madrimov turned pro.

If the American defeats the Uzbek, the king of Saudi Arabia has said that he will help co-promote a megafight in late 2024 between Bud and Jaron "Boots" Ennis.

Crawford is the rightful favourite. But I wouldn't write Madrimov off. Really good fight.

Great fight. A fight like this never gets made without huge Saudi money. Madrimov is a super athletic and super unknown guy.

Crawford has to be the favorite, but it's close. He'll be 37 AND moving up to 154 for the first time.

Crawford by decision---too clever, efficient, and skilled (throw in athleticism and a genuine mean streak when he steps between the ropes and it's easy to see why the pride of Omaha is an absolute handful).

Madrimov has no chance. He gets KTFO around the 7th.

Crawford will be fresher at 154. Making 147 would have been a major struggle for him in his last few fights.

Madrimov has a punchers upset chance...but against the consensus top pound for pound boxer of this generation.

Madrimov will take this, everyone expects Crawford to win but Madrimov has the tools to beat Crawford...

I hope madrimov can at least make it challenging. He only has 10 pro fights compared to Crawford’s 40

Always a chance Crawford has gotten old overnight. I like this fight.

I’ve only seen madrimov fight twice and both times he got hit too much for my liking. Crawford stops him late

If Madrimov had 20 fights as opposed to only 10, experience fighting at the elite level against top 10 guys, and wasn't so inactive, only fighting once a year for the last 3 years and twice in the previous 2 to that which is crazy considering he's still only a 10 fight rookie now, this would probably be the first time I'd be picking against Crawford. But the fact that Crawford will be bigger than Madrimov despite it being his fourth weight class is also pretty crazy.

Also, Madrimov is going to need to KO Crawford over there because they'll stack the deck with a home ref and three home judges and obviously they'll rob him if it does go the distance and he deserves to win because that's how they play fair over there and treat foreigners. So everything is stacked heavily against Madrimov.

That being said, Madrimov hits extremely hard, especially for his size, with both hands, and Crawford has somehow managed to have 40 fights whilst barely having fought any legit punchers, especially ones his size, let alone legit KO artists. FTR, I'm not saying he's been ducking punchers as such but rather he's just been extremely fortunate in the regard that the minefields he's had to traverse spanning three weight divisions have been full of of non life-threatening mines. He's fought a ton of absolute featherfists and average punchers at best and on one of the only occasions he fought a legit banger his size in Mean Machine he got dropped and Madrimov will be by far the hardest puncher he's ever fought so that's what makes it most interesting for me. Crawford will be fighting his first legit genuine KO artist above C level who possesses the power to flatten him and if Madrimov is able to land his bombs with any consistency and get past Crawford's much longer reach and stiff-arming or quasi stiff-arming I'll be surprised if he doesn't hurt him badly, drop him or knock his ass out

Definitely throwing 5 bucks on Madrimov with those odds.
