Boots actually has a strong following. And it´s one of those cases where a little known but dangerous opponents translates to PPV sales.
Golovkin could not sell **** on his own, even against Daniel Jacobs who was heavily promoted. Fun fact, Daniel Jacobs never performed in front of a live TV audience of a million or more, so the media made him out to be a bigger star than reality, but I digress.
Yet Golovkin vs Canelo was a blockbuster even tho Canelo himself barely cracked 300k in his previous bouts, except Cotto.

Haney tried to be a PPV attraction and his fight with Prograis bombed. Garcia on the other hand is as popular as ever. All of social media is going ham over his recent victory. So him vs Boots would do good numbers.
If Garcia can´t make 140, then Boots is the biggest fight for him.

I really hope he does fight Boots at 147. I’d pay to watch Boots spark Garcia’s ass. It would not be pretty or wise for Ryan to even think about this fight. He might be crazy but he ain’t that crazy.

Maybe go for a rematch against Haney or even Tank but Boots is too much at this stage. Maybe in a couple years but not now.

Boots' following is no bigger than Crawford's following pre-welterweight. Obviously we as boxing fans know who the young man is, especially if you follow the amateur circuit like some of us do, but over all to the casual fan (the actual casual fan who simply only knows the biggest of names of the sport like Mike Tyson, Ali, etc....) know nothing about Jaron Ennis.

I'll always appreciate the info giving regarding the discussion at hand as far as Danny Jacobs and Canelo's numbers.... but regardless of PPV sales and the media "making him out to be a bigger star than reality"........ People were showing up for their fights, thus they were able to make millions from the gate alone, before the shared revenue came from a PPV sale.

I've never been to a GGG fight in person. But I've been to multiple Boots fights in person. Both amateur and pro. And though his style is fan friendly.....he doesn't sell out stadiums. If he did, then we would have seen his purses bulk up to at least $500K.

Just like D. Jacobs.... the media tries to make Jaron Ennis out to be a bigger star than he is as well. Just because he matches up with Garcia doesn't guarantee that it's going to be a success PPV ticket. Haney is more accomplished and has just as much of a following as Boots......yet, he and Ryan Garcia PPV sales is at 50,000....And many people saw that fight close to a 50/50 in the outcome. You want me to believe that it's a guarantee that they are going to fall in line for a fight vs Boots whom many don't know anything about and those who do know about him, feel he would wash Ryan easily..... Ryan's follow is due to social media....but those social media fans aren't buying his fights. Hell most of the stuff we see on social media today are from his fans who simply saw the headlines and watched the highlights on YouTube, because they definitely didn't show up for him.

Boots needs to be fighting ACTUAL WELTERWEIGHTS and stop looking to find all these lightweights trying to move up. He has a line of opponents in his division that have called him out and/or expressed interest in a fight... Conor Benn, Rashidi Ellis, Blair Cobbs, Stanionis, Crowley, Kavaliuaskas, Barrios, etc.... There's nothing Ryan can do for Boots that these guys can't do for him because they are better competition. Hell, it's a long shot, but why not go after the Keith Thurman fight. He expressed that once he gets healthy, he's going back to welterweight. At the very least, "send him a contract"....and let there be actual "proof" that someone turned down a fight vs Boots rather than just claiming it on social media.

Crowley is no world beaten but he's a solid first opponent for him on a matchroom show.

No idea who was promoting him, was it Top Rank? He'd still be fighting washed up bums.

Legacy fight? Legacy fights are usually reserved for P4P fighters who need another P4P fighter to legitimize them. Isn't it a little soon for that? Boots actually NEEDS to face 1 or 2 Top 10 ranked fighters in his own division first. His resume is actually way crappier than Ryan Garcia's at this point.
