Anthony Joshua has told talkSPORT that his next fight will take place on September 20 or 21 at Wembley Stadium in London.

AJ has revealed that there are four names on the shortlist to be his opponent with Deontay Wilder vs Zhilei Zhang and Filip Hrgovic vs Daniel Dubois set to take place on June 1 in Riyadh - whoever puts in the best performance will emerge as the frontrunner.

Whoever puts in the best performance will be avoided, and Joshua will choose the worst of the above or none...

What are the chances of Wilder "out boxing" Zhang to take a 12 rd decision, and in turn setting up a fight with Joshua?

I don't care who puts int the best performance, I want to see Joshua beat up Deontee and fold him like a deck chair. Second choice Zhang. No one wants to see Joshua fight Huggy Bear or Dubious.

Wilder can easily survive the early onslaught. For all his flaws there is one thing Wilder does not lack and that is toughness. He can be hurt but he bites down and takes it.

I think Zhang will crack him early, gas out as usual and then Wilder either takes enough rounds to take the W or he scores a T/KO

Wilder is tough as mentioned and Zhang always gases out also as mentioned, that’s what makes this fight so interesting, can Zhang get Wilder early or does Wilder get him down the stretch or do both simply go for it from the first bell, this could well be a great fight . Here’s hoping Wilder is back to his menacing old ways and dangerous once more for every second of every round .

Lol, how many times has he mentioned Wilder but not fought him?
Wilder will almost be 40 by the time this gets made, and that's obviously been the plan for a while, to get even more miles and CTE on Wilder.
AJ's list of 40 or near 40year-old top opponents would then be Wlad, Povetkin, Pulev, Wilder.

Anyone that puts on the best performance will obviously sell out wembley. People need value for money now.

For those complaining that A J is trying to age out wilder, that seems absolutely ridiculous. Wilder never wanted any smoke and cherry picked all his career, he just miscalculated by picking Fury (who was not even 70% at the time)

Wilder admitted to ducking AJ years ago. He also messed the fight up again by throwing 3 punches against Parker. Also, don’t forget Wilder’s best win is old man Ortiz.

Wilder Vs AJ should have happened years ago. It feels like a cash out at this stage for both of them.

Wilder is vulnerable and beatable by fighters who are not even in the Top 10, and the fight with Joshua no longer makes sense, 7-8 years ago it could have been the greatest heavyweight fight of all time...

Joshua is 0-2 when against the big names of the division in Wilder, Fury, Usyk.

The Usyk fights were forced because of mandatory -> rematch clause.

The other fights never happened but "IT'S NOT JOSHUA'S FAULT!!!"

Could it be that Wilder and Fury weren't 40 and washed when they tried to make the fight? I expect the Wilder fight to happen in a year or two when Deontay really truly has nothing left. This is the UK way, Calslappers laid the blueprint.

    Weirdly like Dempsey in this.

Takes a title from a weak champion. Never meets his top contender until he fights Gene Tunney and is thrashed. Rematches him and loses again.

Will he bring David Price out of retirement? Surely that match would fill Wembley.

Yeah, I think KO or TKO are Wilder's only route to victory here. I don't think Wilder is active enough himself to win on the cards against even a tired Zhang, and I don't see him out-boxing Zhang either. Though, maybe Zhang loses on the Saudi cards for a third time in a row

Exactly, and it looks like Joshua's team are still trying to make that fight. They want the money that fight potentially brings. Why else mention the winner of Zhang v Wilder and not the concurer of both: Parker?

They can still sell the Joshua v Wilder fight if he can get a win against Zhang. Everyone in Saudi is trying desperately to make Wilder marketable again

Hearn and Joshua regularly provide a shortlist of potential opponents and often he ends up fighting the worst name mentioned. Remember when Hearn repeatedly claimed Joshua would fight the winner of Whyte-Franklin and he instead fought the loser? That's just one example.
