Paul/Tyson will be a sanctioned pro fight

The July 20 bout between YouTuber-turned-prizefighter Jake Paul and former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson will be classified as a sanctioned, professional fight by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations.

The heavyweight showdown will be contested over eight two-minute rounds with each fighter using 14-ounce gloves. The outcome will affect their professional boxing records.

"Mike Tyson and Jake Paul signed on to fight each other with the desire to do so in a sanctioned professional fight that would have a definitive outcome," Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said in a statement to ESPN. "Over the past six weeks, MVP has worked with its partners to satisfy the requirements of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) to sanction Paul vs. Tyson, and we are grateful that we have gotten to this point."

 

So Tyson is going to end up with his 7th defeat to this turd. Sucks

 

Seeing a red loss box to Jake Paul on Boxrec would suck just as much as seeing Roy Jones' official loss to Anthony Pettis. Hate this, but I hope Mike knocks him senseless.

 

I agree however the silver lining here:

Tyson is reported to earn twenty million with this "fight" and it's rumored to have a no knockout clause. Not sure the legacy of Mike Tyson will be changed much by this but his bank account will be.

 

Two awful humans getting paid a ton of money under the guise of a "fight".
Let's hope that boxing doesn't take yet another black eye that night, although it seems almost inevitable to me.

 

If Mike doesn't knock Jake out in less than 30 seconds then this it all a setup.

 

How can this be a pro fight when the rounds are 2 minutes and the gloves are 14 ounce gloves? I guess Mike wants it to count to motivate him more to cave Jake Paul's ****ing head in.

This actually change... nothing.

They both dont care about record because they both dont have ambition to make their carrers go serious way.
One is old and done enough and just want earn some money and other just use boxing to earn gigantic cash because lot of child know him.

They still can go 50% here and dont heart each other.

Mike tyson takes it as serious as it gets , he even announced to quit the horizontal tango until the fight , not sure if this includes to stop choking the chicken .

 

Both guys are in it for the money.

Tyson may still have enough to put knock Paul out.

 

That's lame.

 

Because current day boxing is a circus full of ringmasters and clowns.
