It's disturbing watching his cheerleaders defend him.

It's an absolute fact he ducked Fury and Wilder the last few years as both literally offered the fight to him and he wouldn't take it, despite having no belts etc. This is not speculation, it was in the public eye.

The Wilder duck was even more blatant as he claimed the reason for not fighting Fury was because Wilder was lined up, then fought on the same card against Wallin. You can't make this up. It is clear as day the Arabs would prefer AJ-Wilder, as would Wilder, as he has nowhere to go now. Then Wilder still called him out after Parker and AJ didn't want it.

You AJ fans are in absolute denial! It's okay, just accept he isn't the hero you thought he was and get the 'stay humble' tattoo removed from your butt cheek. We all make mistakes!

But then Wilder hadn't beaten anyone of note since Ortiz, and that's if you're generous enough to include Ortiz...
Fury beating him so easily (2) and beating him without even being fully fit (3) only reinforces that.
And Parker beating him so easily only reinforces this further.

Now, I think it's still a good win for Parker...

But I'm making the point just how easy it is to blow holes in hindsight - and the almost deranged double standard in finding excuses to minimise Joshua's wins by panning opponents after the fact if he happens to win easily is a good example of NOT giving full credit.

(Despite you giving him credit for knocking Wallin out when he didn't  he dominated him to the point that he quit).

What headlines is about what sells - and that's both about how competitive a fight is expected to be AND how marketable the fighters are.

Like it or not, Joshua's been the biggest cashcow in the division for ages - it's completely normal to expect him to headline, they'd be throwing away money not to.

He's certainly not amazing, nor are Fury or Parker... They're just among the best of a pretty crap era.

But being selective about what we give credit for is ridiculous - and I'm sorry mate, but I think that's you on this one.

    Clearly Gassiev.

Had there not been so much money riding on the fury vs Wilder rematch, Wallin would of beaten Fury due to fight being stopped due to the cut.

However I wasn't the one that rated Wallin, I thought it would be very easy work for AJ.

It was the majority of the hard core Fury fans predicting Wallin would beat AJ.

Shoulda Woulda coulda the corner let Fury fight Wallin with the cut and he did it. Happens all the time.

    Wallin has 0 good wins.

Gassiev is a good win considering his pedigree at CW.

That said I don't rate Wallin. Yet Wallin still gets in Furys top 5 opponents he has beaten (he doesn't for AJ).

No it isn't. Gassiev didn't beat any good heavyweights and he had numerous injuries and set backs just say you're a hypocrite. Wallin sucks watch the Sokolowski fight

You didn't want to own up to that you thought Ngannou would be a difficult fight for AJ (and then dismissing the worth of the win after the fact), what then was you prediction for Wallin-AJ? Am I correct in guessing that you thought that Joshua would at best win a "friendly" decision?

You do realise that Joshua has no title to defend? And that he has faced two guys you thought would give him a lot of trouble? He's taken two fights that you believed to be almost 50-50 since losing to Usyk and you still say he only has taken easy fights?

You're making an asbolute spectacle of yourself. Slow down.

I think you're reading too much into what I'm saying. I give credit to AJ for fighting Wallin. Wallin disappointing me otherwise is a separate issue. If you wanna conflate them to fit your narrative that's on you.

You rubbish Wilders past (rightly so) but he's still knocked out or down every opponent except Parker and is now stepping up to take on bigger names. He deserves credit there.

I don't care if AJ is a cash cow. I'm a boxing fan and I want to see good fights, and if he's not going to deliver then he shouldn't be headlining.

I'm not being selective. I've criticized every fighter bar Usyk because he's the only fighter who actually steps up and gives us great fights without being an absolute diva about it (AJ, Wilder, Fury). Before you accuse me of being a Parker fan boy I have had plenty of criticisms of him in the past (sticking with Barry too long, not being aggressive enough), and there are certain fighters I don't think he can beat (Joyce, Usyk, Fury).

This thread has essentially devolved into AJ fans being hyper sensitive when pointing out that AJs recent run has been average at best. If his next fight is against a good opponent, I'll give him plenty of credit for it.

Because aj is chinny, you can look at the prediction I clearly said aj would win but was hoping Ngannou would knock him out. Ngannou is an mma fighter with no wins, and the fact that aj knocked him out so easily means he must be crap because we already know where ajs level is, even journeyman have done much better

Yes those were easy fights. I rated them based on their performance against Fury but we know Fury blows hot and cold. 1 minute he obliterates wilder the next he's getting dropped 3 times by Wilder and getting outjabbed in spots. Wallin and Ngannou have 0 good wins, and you know it. They are crap.

Joshua doesn't need a title to fight other top contenders wtf are you smoking

You thought Joshua would "just decision" Ngannou and I'm starting to think you picked Wallin to beat AJ since you're so quiet on that one.

So in less than 18 months AJ took on two fights which you thought were in the 50-50 realm. And of course you give him zero credit by proving you massively wrong.

And of course the demands are much higher on a champion than a contender. I still would have liked to have seen Joshua vs Zhang/Parker/Hrgovic, and hopefully he will face one of them before the year's end.

But to give someone about a 50-50 chance against an opponent and then dismiss that as a nothing challenge after the fact is straight up pathetic.

Yeah I was hoping Wallin would beat him just like Ruiz, but it doesn't matter to me rn, aj will lose again. It also doesn't matter because Wallin sucks. Go ahead, tell me that Wallin beat the great worn and torn, done nothing at heavyweight Murt Gassiev. He and Ngannou are crap, especially Ngannou.

I gave aj credit for Ngannou win and probably even the Wallin win right after. That doesn't mean the credit will be significant, because they are not good fighters

So in the 18 months after Usyk, AJ took on one guy you thought he'd lose to and one guy you thought he'd just barely beat. That should make him a pretty ballsy operator in your eyes, but...

Grand Scheme that's irrelevant. Wallin and Ngannou aren't good opponents. I really just wanted aj to lose, and lose he will, it's an inevitability. Maybe he beats a young prime contender like Hrgovic yeah I'll give him some credit. In the end though, he'll never be #1, until perhaps Usyk and Fury retire
